We stayed here on the last night of our road trip through Umbria. Rather than deal with the traffic in Rome for a flight out the next day and we were so happy we did. We had a suite overlooking the lake with plenty of space and a lovely decor. Parking was free and right across the street. For those who've never been, the Italian lakes are a world on themselves. You'll find lots of relaxed locals and couples and families enjoying some R&R. Great restaurants, bars and a lot less hassle. I could highly recommend staying at the lake brassiano instead of downtown and at the Borgo vistalago. They even opened up early for us for breakfast so we could make our flight. It only took us about 40 minutes to make it all the way to Rome airport. Quicker than we have ever made it from downtown Rome.…
Arrived late at night in the middle of a huge thunderstorm , was shown to my room in an original village stone house with modern amenities, woke up in the morning and found we were by a lovely lake in the most picturesque little village. The bathroom was tiny but the shower was good. The bed was comfortable too. We had delicious fresh croissants warm from the oven and really good capuccinos. The owner and all the staff were lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. We were about 15 mins easy drive from Vallelunga race circuit. I would definitely like to stay again.
We are still at Borgo Vistalago enjoying a 7 night stay in the gold suite. We have found the hotel to be exactly as we hoped, beautiful rooms, amazing view (can highly recommend gold suite view) and great staff. You don't need to stay as long as us but we have happily relaxed here for a week after 3 nights in Rome. Breakfast is a smaller selection than you may find at other hotels but trust me it's all the good bits! Excellent coffee, fresh croissants, ham, cheese, fruit, cakes. We never went hungry and the staff started to know what we liked and prepared it for us! Trevignano Roma is a lovely place, untouristy and where it seems mostly Italians visit. It's so sweet and full of restaurants with lovely food (not all we're great though so do your research). The beach is a 20 minute walk but a beautiful walk that we enjoyed. Buy yourself your own parasol at a local shop and save a fair bit on the sunbed and parasol fees (not needed). Make sure you take the island ferry trip, better in the afternoon 5.40pm from Trevignano for the sunset. Supermarket is 1600m away so a bit of a trek you won't want to do often but a little shop right next to the hotel bistro is perfect for water, beer, pizza and cheese. Definitely get a balcony room to enjoy these on when you get back from the beach, you won't regret it! We had a really lovely unforgettable time here and the hotel was a big part of that. Staff were excellent and really looked after us. …
For the first time in my life, I decided to write a review just to warn people hoping for relaxing rest at the lake. To start with the reception which was calling me several times wasting my money in roaming - they wanted me to arrive asap as the reception closes at 7.30 pm and you have no one to help with your possible needs after it. It is fully understandable in case of apartments rented, but not with the hotel, where you are to pay 140 euro per night. But what is more important is that in the main building you receive a suite(!) looking at a small part of the lake, but at a big part of the noisy road and even a noisier bar which is open till 2 am!!! So at 11.30 pm, we had to call the staff asking to move us to another room, packing our suitcases again and wasting our sleeping time for it. They had problems with wi-fi that night, so I was unable to check-in for my flight and had to spend money again for standard calls. In the morning I asked the staff for a discount for this inconvenience and the reply was extremely rude, even with noting that we are Russian (who knows what it should have meant!!). One woman from the staff was shouting at me by phone (yes, you cannot hope for a responsible person to be at the reception at 9.30 am). To be fair, finally, I received the discount, but the last day of our vacations was totally ruined by this unpleasant situation.…
We spent 5 nights in this hotel during a recent stay in the area for a wedding. The location is very convenient: only minutes away from the town centre. Parking is a real issue as the hotel is on the main road and there are no allocated parking spaces. There are metered parking spaces on the road and you need a bit of luck to find one. If you do, make sure you don't exceed your time. Controls are frequent. The ladies running the hotel are all extremely helpful and charming, particularly Fabiana who has good English. Word of caution: the reception has limited opening times and so it would help to let them know when you plan to arrive. We were put into the 'black room' which has a fabulous view over the lake. Again a word of caution: it is two flights of stairs up (no lift), one on the outside of the building, one on the inside. You need to be careful on the inside stairs: you risk banging your head on the way up (or down) if you're not careful. The room itself is comfortable and well soundproofed from the outside traffic. Unfortunately they haven't yet been able to solve the issue of very noisy pigeons on the roof! The chest of drawers had a few handles missing and nobody had bothered fixing it. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was roomy but had a rather temperamental shower. There was airco, tv, tea making facilities, mini bar, safe and a good (complementary) wifi signal. Breakfast was better than what is typically on offer in Italy and came with lots of smiles. …
