The Grand Ser Hotel only opened several months ago. According to the Cappadocia travel agent who booked us there, it's the newest and best hotel in the area. I think he's mistaken! Grand Ser may be acceptable for large group tours, but individual travelers looking for more personalized, Turkish lodging, may be somewhat disappointed. The hotel has no air conditioning....

Our room was overheated, and when asked how to lower temperature, hotel staff suggested we open windows and door. Windows open onto several large gas stations with all night traffic, and the fumes and noise made leaving windows open an ordeal. The room itself smelled strongly of nicotine. If you have to stay in Yozgat, this is probably the best place. The rooms were okay but smelly from previous smokers. The duvet cover was short and narrow. The food selection was quite poor. There was good WIFI connection and free bottled water.

The hotel rooms are nice and modern. Yozgat is a good location for a visit to Hattuscha. Unfortunately my experience with the restaurant was really poor: expensive dishes which were only a bit warm, no alcohol.

Far away from hectic Ankara you can explore Turkish historical sites, Turkish lifestyle in a small city. The hotel at the entrance of Yozgat is perfect for this: buses to and from Ankara stop there. Also buses to the city centre which anyway is only ten minutes of walking distance. The hotel is proper and well equipped with swimmingpool, sauna...

Located on the main road in Yozgat (about 2 hours drive from Ankara), it's a good base to visit Hattusa. Good services and fair choice of food, good rooms. Taking into account the remote geographical position, Grand Eser Hotel is perfect to visit the area. Only drawback being that the hotel staff doesn't speak anything but Turkish. Anyhow they're very...
