Recently we have been to “The Bison” resort located near Kabini River and honestly and truly in my opinion, this resort is overrated and overly priced. Pros: - Staff is very courteous. - The tents are spacious. - Property looks serene and might have looked better if there was water in the river. Cons: - Overly priced. At this price,...

Difficult to imagine more luxury in a tent what Bison gives you. Very helpful staff but with average food. Amazing safari experience, very smooth management and Vikrant made the safari very thrilling ride.

Location wise the best resort among the ones in kabini. Tents give a surreal experience.. You can pretty much see the forests from your tents. Very courteous staff..manager (vikrant) is very friendly.. . Some of the activities are really good.. However it stops there... Bush pool could be more clean in the evenings.. .. I wanted to rate them 4*...

Choosing The Bison to stay at was the best decision we made that year, right from the time we contacted then for a booking till we vacated. The customer service is very friendly and look to give you the best deals. Just...

You will not get sleep in 1st night with jackals howling..since The Bison is closest to the national park. But must for family. We got used to in 2nd night. We all should experience the wild. Enjoyed the safaris. River safari was the best with elephants and crocs visible. One has to be very patient to see tigers in the...

To start off with i think the Bison property is lovely and anyone staying there would not be disappointed. The food at the hotel is one of the best i've had in all my wildlife trips and the staff there is really sweet and helpful. The naturalist Vikrant was excellent and was thoroughly entertaining. We were the only Europeans staying here, which is always a good sign. It is expensive for foreigners - but what would you pay to watch in the silent gloaming a tigress, replete from a kill, lying at full stretch on a bed of leaves, rising to make her toilet and then settling again - all within ten yards of...

My wife and I stayed at The Bison a few weeks ago as part of our Nagarhole Safari adventure. None of us had ever seen a tiger in the wold so we thought that this would be the ideal national park to do it, considering Karnataka has the major tiger population in India. Before we finalised on booking with The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Serene and tranquil through the day yet exciting and stimulating at night; the Bison, a boutique tented camp, the first of its kind in India, offers luxury at the very of adventure. "The Bison" is situated at the confluence of the Bandipur and Nagarhole National Parks, on the shores of the exotic Kabini River in Karnataka (west of Mysore), which offers you the perfect wildlife adventure. It is the only resort in the area which directly overlooks the national park. Elephants and other wildlife are regularly spotted from the resort. The decor and ambiance of the camp recreates the adventurous decadence of a bygone era. Wooden floors, elegant linen, beautiful artifacts, old cabin trunks and other original antiques seek to enhance the rustic setting of the camp site. Each tent is lavishly furnished with double beds, writing and dressing tables, full length mirror and arm chairs. En-suite bathrooms with expansive showers are a virtual treat. ... more   less
