Renovation of the old Mai Thai hotel is a success. Everything was ripped out and made new.
Rooms are nice (compared to Phetcharat Garden where i lived for 10 years, they are Excellent), inventory fresh and the only thing i really miss, is a safe in the room.
The staff is very helpful, although the (missing) amount of english language may be an issue to some.
The only thing that others could be missing, would be a pool and a pool area. A bar is not present, but the next bar is less than 100 meters away. The hotel has a japaneese restaurant attached, but there are a plethora of different restaurants within walking distance.

Stayed there for one night in a basic room. walk-in rate 750THB. For some reason no available bookings via B.com or Agoda, though the hotel was hardly occupied. Rooms were indeed very basic (but visibly recently refurbished). Small fridge with 2 bottles of still water. Good beds, enough wall outlets, small flatscreed TV. Good (and quiet) airco. No small handtowels in the bathroom, no coffee making facilities, no hair dryer ... the latter things were not a problem for us, but I can imagine other guests being disappointed.
Staff at reception very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was basic as well ; toast/eggs/saucages or thai style; rice soup, krapauw & white rice.
Ideal location for an evening out with friends (as we did). Plenty of restaurants (incl. live music) within walking distance.
Would go back there because of the location.

A totally renovated hotel with a simple modern design. New comfortable beds & linens, New AC & electric lighting. Modern, updated bathroom. The solid structure makes this hotel quiet and spacious. Plenty of parking and walking distance ( 15 minutes) to the city park & Roiet Tower. Receptionist speaks English. Unfortunately the eating area is dismal and the breakfast choices are slim.

An older hotel that has mostly been refurbished. There is some ongoing construction during the day which makes an afternoon nap somewhat difficult.

We thought it was good value for the price point. Our room was fairly large, comfortable; and most important, quiet at night. Nice heavy blackout drapes keeps the hot afternoon sun at bay and allowed us to sleep a bit longer in the morning.

Not very busy when we visited which is probably why it was so quiet. No outside noise whatsoever and we didn’t hear anything from other guests in neighboring rooms or the hallway which allowed us to get a good night’s sleep for a change.

Only one English anti-American/UK, pro EU biased news channel from France.

Check in time is 12:00 and checkout 13:00 which is very generous. The staff was professional and courteous, although English is not their strong point even though there were quite a few foreigners staying at the hotel. Most with either Thai wives or girlfriends.

There is a fetid canal next to the hotel that is rather unpleasant during the afternoon heat, but you don’t smell anything inside the hotel itself.

Breakfast was nothing special, which is about average for Thai hotels in this price range. There is a small bar/coffee shop at the lobby, but the coffee is standard Thai and pretty much undrinkable without tons of sugar.

No safe deposit boxes in the room; however, I don’t know if they have one available from the desk as we didn’t ask.

Internet not blazing fast, nor connection good except in the lobby. Good enough for email, but forget about downloading large files or streaming video.

Overall, a good experience and next time we are in Roi Et we would consider staying here again.

This a hotel, now called the M Grand, used to be the badly rundown Mai Thai hotel, it has been renovated and reconditioned, rooms are simply buy clean and tidy, no longer has the infamous karaoke, or coyote bar, reception ladies and great, some rooms on some floors still being renovated, breakfast, at this stage is very very simple and small, I would assume because if the small number of guests it has. Reasonably cheap for a night (800 baht with breakfast) Only failing, no pool, However compare this to the Rice (no pool, or breakfast) and the Petcharat (really old rooms, outdated but has a pool and reasonable meals) this Hotel will become one of the better hotels in this City.

Very friendly service but basically inept, it took us four visits to reception to get the Wi-Fi active , it took us two visits to reception to get a key card that worked and that was the general trend. Rooms extremely basic but were clean. However the balcony areas of the rooms are a disgrace with nesting pigeons and years worth of pigeon excrement that has obviously never been cleaned, a health hazard but not a problem if you don’t open the windows and draw the curtains. Breakfast okay.

Renovated boutique hotel, reasonable price, not expensive
Too clean bathroom, Jinhong Chinese restaurant, taste
Quite good. The fusion restaurant has a very delicious papaya salad and fermented fish menu. The menu is suitable for all genders and ages, such as crab omelet.
Shrimp and crab fried rice are fresh and very good. The rooms are clean and the air conditioner is very cool.
The breakfast format is still not perfect. There is no coffee maker. But the breakfast tastes good.
