Though we stayed for only one night due to time constraints, we had a truly memorable stay at Quatermains. The staff were the trip highlight, both knowledgeable and friendly and the accommodation was exactly as described, rustic but comfortable. For a true safari experience, this is the spot

We stayed for 2 nights and did not want it to end. The camp, the tents, the game drives, the animals, the food - everything was perfect, we cannot think of a single thing that could be improved. Wonderful, friendly people and an incredible starry sky at night. A very special place.

One of the best travel experiences of my life. Great safaris, excellent food, wonderful people and a tent that makes you feel like Quatermain himself- AWESOME! You get game drives on both the Amakhala and the Shamwari reserve, get to see amazing wild animals up close and return to freshly cooked , delicious food and a roomy, comfortable and safe...

We spent 3 nights in January. They arranged for our airport transfer from Port Elizabeth. The lodging is in "Out of Africa" style tents with attached outdoor, (but covered) bathrooms. It's a very small and intimate place, only 3 tents, 6 beds total. The tents are roomy, comfortable & private. The staff and guides go out of their way to...

This was our second visit to Quatermain's, this time with our adult children, and while we would not have thought it possible it was better than the first. We had an absolutely wonderful time and if you are reading this considering making a booking, just do it. This is not just a Safari, this is an experience. In this day...

Quite simply up there in the top five things I have ever done. I have done a fair few safaris before in the 'smart' lodges, so we were excited when we saw this tented version. The tents were absolutely fantastic, we were on our own 200 yds. into the bush. Despite the fact we had a tent, it was pretty...

We chose the Quartermains 1920s camp to spend our 2 night safari. When we first arrived and we're told there was no electricity it was quite a shock, however this only added to the authenticity of the place and made the experience even more amazing. All the staff were fantastic happy to help and answer any questions we had. Our...

The Camp is very basic, three tents, common area around a fire place and a staff kitchen. We got to experience a Game Drive at Shamwari. Lungi was an amazing guide. It was so interesting to see how he found all those animals. Fantastic experience. Everyone was very nice, especially our young hostess, who had just started there. She made...

Thank you so much for your very valuable review, we are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us, and your game drive with Lungi. You are absolutely right, we are a rustic bush camp, and as such we are basic, which is how we market ourselves and also why we are 3 star rated. I feel it's a...
