This hotel is rated as a category 5 and should not be. The Category 4 Relais de Margaux is much much nicer, air conditioning, quieter, town is nicer... Not sure who does the ratings but it may be the same person that does the wine ratings. The walk into the town is run down and has many poorly built homes...

We stayed here just two nights before going to another B&B in Aquitaine. Chateau de L'Isle was a perfect starting pint for us. The room we stayed in was large and beautifully, decorated and clean. The breakfast was typically French with coffee and tea, ham cheese and (on one out of the two days) boiled eggs + really tasty baguettes...

Very nice welcome, spacy rooms, lovely bath room and charming breakfast all together at the same huge table. Working both late hours, we enjoyed the silence in the morning, no cars, o dogs, not even a...

This family Chateau is very well run. The room was clean, had excellent furnishings and a super comfy bed with lovely linen. It was great value for money and the breakfast was tasty too. It feels like a luxury boutique B&B with charm and a personal touch. The swimming pool was divine, and we could have easily stayed more than...

Vanessa and her family( mother and husband) were very welcoming, even giving us maps of vineyards and chateaux for wine tasting. Beautiful breakfast table with homemade jams and breads. Very tasteful decorating, new bathrooms.

We had an excellent time at the Chateau, we stayed for two nights and from the time we arrived we could not have wished for anything more. The owners make the stay personal and provide a useful source of information for exploring the Medoc region. The rooms are beautiful and combine a classic style with all the modern conveniences.
