Phil and Helene are fantastic hosts. More than willing to go out of their way to make you stay pleasant and enjoyable. We stayed 4 nights as a non-powered camping unit. We were having battery issues with the campervan and Phil was kind enough to offer a battery charger, extension cord and plug in adapter for our use. MUCH appreciated....

What a lovely spot on the river. An older but Very tidy camp with spacious sites and facilities that were clean and tidy. The added bonus is the garden where campers can help them selves to veges and herbs which is sited near the very clean kitchen. Great playground if you have children.

Adjacent to main road and railway line which can be noisy. On riverside with walks. Only 2 showers for each sex to serve the whole site, but with new bbq area and adequate kitchen. Friendly hosts. Sufficient for overnight stay.

We stayed here for just one night. The campground is a bit far out from the city and you can hear the train all the time. You get used to though. The crickets where really loud the whole night, but nothing which disturbs you from sleeping too much. The facilities are good and it has a bbq as well. Nothing amazing...

This park is a little secret! Lovely setting by the river under established trees. Fresh herbs were a welcome addition to our dinner. We stayed at the Kiwi Cabin, which is best described as retro. Lots of space, with beds for seven, this cabin is very comfortable. The beds are just right with good pillows to enjoy a good nights...

We settled in our tent under a huge Totara tree and enjoyed everything about this camp. Lovely, hospitable feel with great facilities and right beside the river. We biked on the Timber Trail, swam in the river, used the camp kayaks, played with our dogs and would recommend Taumaranui utterly. Jasmine Thai takeaways were great. The herb garden is pretty...

Awesome owners. The camp is beautifully set out, clean and tidy. Lots of little personal touches like herb gardens for guests right by the bbq area and big inflatable tubes for guests to float on in the river.

This review won't let me leave a review for 2011&2013. The first time we stayed here we had come from 3 weeks in LA, and were all hyped up on the luxury and size of everything there. We hired a car and were attempting to get to wanganui when jetlag hit and we found this park on the sat nav....

Stayed here for three nights with three other motorhomes. What a real gem. Owners are so friendly and helpful with lots a special little treats such as a free garden for campers and a chiminea by the BBQ which was lit when it was cold. Free showers with good pressure and plenty of hot water. Overall a great camp.
