We stopped overnight here recently and accomodation was nothing flash but had everything we needed. Manager was very friendly and also gave us some complementary cans of beer, local paper and crisps! It's very close to the railway lines however our unit was down the end so the noise wasn't an issue. I would stay here again.

We stayed here last night on a trip to Auckland from wellington. The host is absolutely lovely, the rooms are so comfy and old and smell like nanas house. Would visit again for the old charm of the place.. was busy, recommend booking

We've been calling in for a stay-over for many years and it's always like coming home.Always a warm welcome from Con,the owner,a can of beer and chips, without fail and a laugh and a joke.I believe Con built this motel in the 60's but,in spite of it's age,he keeps it in perfect order and the appliances and crockery etc.are more than...

Classic! This is why we should take more time on our journeys to enjoy the hospitality that Tihape Motels has to offer. Rooms are clean and comfortable, only a short stroll down to the village, for some antiquing and a wonderful meal at Al Centro. You'll enjoy your bag of complementary crisps, can of beer and great selection of DVDs....

We needed a place to overnight in Taihape as we headed south and this ticked the boxes after a long drive. Friendly welcome with beer and chips, fresh milk and good choice of dvds on offer. Our room basic but clean and comfortable studio unit away from the main street (State Highway One) so quiet. Short walk to supermarket for...

A great place for that brief stop over or a longer stay. Right in the centre of town and all the food outlets and restaurants are about you and with some great choices. Stroll Taihape's main street and enjoy its 'country town' experience. We enjoyed meeting the motel owner. A gentle man who loves people and appreciates their needs. The...

We stayed here overnight on our way south. As other reviewers have said the owners have customer service worked out with welcoming beer, chips and a newspaper. The rooms are basic but clean and priced appropriately. The motel is MUCH quieter than any of the ones along the main road and it will definitely be our “regular” from now on.

Came late. No problems. The manager even gave us some chips when we arrived. We was hungry. Tidy and neat place to have a night stop. Good selection of tv channels to go to sleep to, after a long days driving. Highly recommended.

Traveled for three weeks around NZ and this was the best place we stayed. Lovely and clean, with a great manager to show us a room to see if it suited. It was perfect for our family of five. The manger then went and got us a couple of beers and packets of chips for the kids. Free DVD hire...

We passed through & stayed the one night on Boxing Day. Very pleasant owner & he gave us an option of the room we could pick which was very helpful especially with having a young one with us. Our room even though the decor is of an older era it was very clean & well kept. Nice & quiet as...
