I had been driving for hours from Quebec City and needed to stop for the night. The Green River Bridge House was recommended to me. After driving along a winding country road, I came upon this idyllic property! It is a beautiful spot that feels purely therapeutic. The proprietor; Joan, has done an amazing job of completing renovating this property!...

You travel a dirt road to get there. When you arrive, there is a covered bridge and a waterfall just a few steps from the inn. Local residents and guests at the GRBH swim at the spill of the falls. The inn has been lovingly restored and is comfortable and clean. The owner, Joan, is a great hostess and resource...

. We enjoyed a lovely week end with the beautiful grounds and wonderful surrounding. The house or Inn is breathtaking, so clean and neat. The breakfast table was set for Royalty. The breakfast meal was like you were in a 5 star restaurant. We enjoyed coffee outside on the porch which overlooks the grounds. If you need time to relax...

The house, rooms and gardens are impeccable and very tastefully done and decorated, the house and bedrooms are full of antiques, a true New England home that makes you feel at home right away. It is easy to get to and totally quiet, right next to a covered bridge. Be prepared to be visited by hummingbirds while sitting on your own...

There is something special about a B & B that sets the best of them apart from all other accommodations. The Green River Bridge House makes me smile when I think of our stay there. The setting is pure Vermont: woodsy, off the beaten path, river flowing along the side of the yard, covered bridge out the window, a farm...

This is a beautiful B&B located right next to a covered bridge with a waterfall. Every morning we woke up to a delicious breakfast with Joan. She is a lovely woman who offered us advice on where to eat and things to do. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle...

Joan welcomed us to her beautiful home alongside the attractive Green River and opposite a charming covered bridge. The house was elegantly decorated and furnished with lots of antiques. Joan herself was a perfect host helping with any questions and sitting together with guests at breakfast each morning. Two shared lounges were available for relaxation and television when required. Good...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Set in the picturesque village of Green River on a winding country road, the Green River Bridge House is nestled against the meandering Green River a few steps away from the historic Green River Covered Bridge. Across the road, perched on a small hill, is the former Methodist Episcopal Church, a classic white, steepled structure.Next to the covered bridge, water thunders over a rare, restored circa 1790 timber crib dam.The house, built in 1830, once housed the Green River Post Office. In earlier days the barn was the site of the local blacksmith shop. Lovingly and skillfully transformed, the Green River Bridge House is luxurious in comfort and sensuous in visual appeal. Every room is a warm embrace of soft colors, fine antiques and other unique furnishings.Though small enough to be homey, it is large enough and appropriately equipped to be the perfect setting for an intimate wedding or anniversary celebration. ... more   less
