I had a fantastic time fishing /staying/eating with Captain Shane Jarvis and his crew. Fishing is the key for me, and mate Juan, and the World Cat, are world class. All the tackle is top of the line, and in pristine shape. The boat is super stable, fast, and dry. Juan was a wonder keeping lines rigged, baits ready, and always...

I have been to Panama 5 times and fished with a couple of different outfitters. For me, Sportfish Panama has the following benefits vs the comptetition: 1. Land based. Rides to Hannibal bank and Montuosa can be 90 minutes (for tuna and marlin), but getting on land each evening and having a great meal and beverages is nice. There is...

After planning this trip for 4 years, we had some pretty high expectations. Captain Shane and all the folks involved in making our stay memorable exceeded our expectations by more than we could have ever imagined. From the moment we stepped off the plane in Panama City we were completely at ease and relaxed with the stellar VIP treatment we...

Had a great experience with Shane and Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge. From the moment we stepped off the plane until the time we stepped back on, everything was taken care of. The lodge and the food cooked up by chef Lee were amazing. Fishing was 1st class and Shane put us on the fish and accommodated us each day...

Shane and his team are fantastic. They work tirelessly to catch fish and make sure your trip is memorable. Food was spectacular, service through the airports and to the island was perfect, and the fishing was very good. Lots of tuna everywhere, and the tackle and rods/reels are all top of the line. Juan, the mate, is very focused and...

Six guys went to do some serious fishing off the grid. Did not expect to find such incredible food, service and team. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like VIPs, with escorts in Panama City and David airports to assure that we got to the docks efficiently and comfortably. The service got even better once we were on...

Captain Shane and his staff were very professional and accommodating. From the moment we arrived and we were greeted with a welcoming cocktail to the delicious Tuna dishes Lee prepared every night. Captain Shane truly cares that you have good time and catch fish. I strongly recommend this trip to anyone looking to fish Panama.

When the fishing is excellent and the food is fantastic you know you're in for a good week. We caught fish everyday . . . tally included . . . 650lb marlin, tuna, pompano, jack cravalle, rooster fish, amber jack, wahu, horse eye jack, red snapper, rock snapper, and others. Three days we had marlin passing across the back of...

My wife and I plus two friends spent the week fishing with Capt Shane and Capt Nateen and their team. Fishing was excellent - We caught a black marlin, several great tuna, Cubrera, Rooster fish and several other varieties. Chef Lee prepared great food and made some extra gluten free stuff for me.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge is a boutique offshore tropical island sport fishing lodge located on Isla Parida in the Gulf of Chiriqui, Panama. Fly into the city of David, in the Chiriqui Providence, travel by boat 12 miles off the Pacific coastline and you will find Isla Parida....an untouched jungle paradise that is a protected national park. Our private island lodge is inside Panama's Gulf of Chiriqui National Marine Park and is truly "off the grid." No roads, no concrete, just jungle and white sand beaches. Sportfishing, snorkeling, sea kayaking, hike, or just hang out on one of our deserted beaches. Sportfishing here in the Gulf of Chiriqui is legendary! Black Marlin and Yellowfin Tuna are encountered offshore at Hannibal Bank, Coiba, and Isla Montuosa all only minutes away. Inshore prey such as Cubera Snapper and Roosterfish are caught in the water right in front of the lodge! We specialize in an upscale sportfishing experience with great food, personalized service, accommodations, and highly maintained boats and equipment. ... more   less
