We stayed 3 nights at Cliff and by the end of it, I was saddened to leave the place. It was such a good experience for all of us thanks to the staff at Cliff. My friend and I had plans to dive but all were cancelled last minute. We had to make impromptu plans to explore the island and the staff could not be more helpful. They arranged private transport for us to Ceningan and fetched us back. We went fishing one day and brought back >10 fishes. The villa’s restaurant was more than happy to cook our catch for us (though note this was not peak hour), sharing various Balinese techniques / recipes. The guest facing staff have a relatively good command of English and through them we were able to understand more about the island and their lifestyle. Apart from these specific incidents, I would say the service level here is infallible and heartfelt. The rooms are modest and clean, they come equipped with good AC and comfortable beds. My favourite was the porch where you can enjoy an unparalleled view of the sea (our villa had a direct view of the sea) or admire the stars at night. The pool and cafe are also very comfortable to chill at. The villa is directly connected to Song Lampong beach (<5 mins walk) and from there one can take the boardwalk to the Long Beach area, or go for a mini hike to the adjacent Tamarind beach (<15 mins). When not eating at the hotel cafe, we ordered in - many local eateries provide this service at a small or no extra fee. A shout out to Bronjo, Kopang, Pak Arka and all the other staff who made our short stay an amazing and unforgettable one.

First time at Cliffs Villas and found them to be clean, spacious and homely. The view from the pool restaurant and villas is amazing 10/10.
Location is great being so close to Coconut beach and you can walk along the coastal boardwalk into the town center...about 25min.
It is on a cliff so there are stairs but when on holidays a little bit of exercise helps 😉
Can't wait to come back!

Situated with views to the main town, this unpretentious, friendly hotel is a few minutes walk to coconut beach. Excellent snorkeling there, rent a scooter, paddle board, or just chill. Walk right to the restaurants, left to Tamarind and Mushroom beach. Staff are friendly and helpful. Accommodation is inexpensive, comfortable & clean but not flash with great views higher up. Gorgeous pool on the top level by the restaurant.

Good friendly check in though not quite as friendy at check out. I think once the Manager has had your business, friendliness stops. Lots of steps (64) to get to the rooms and restaurant so you need to be fit but that is what gives the good views.

The rooms are basic and bathrooms desperately need a spruce up. Smelt strongly of toilet cleaner and not very clean. The only shampoo i could find was in a unlabelled glass jar and did not look very nice at all. No hairdryer which is unusual though it does not advertise the rooms as having one. I just presumed it would be supplied so did not take my own.
We could not get the TV to work .

We arranged a 4 hour tour through the Hotel and were quoted 400,000Rph but were then charged about 550,000 at the end. Felt a little bit duped by the Manager.
All staff were very friendly though the Manager quite abrupt.

I would NOT stop here again. I would pay a bit more and make sure I read the reviews first.

A great place to stay, staff are very friendly & attentive. The best views are from the restaurant and the top pool. Close to Song Lambong Beach and easy access to surf breaks. Beware to access your room you need to climb steep steps but well worth the climb. We had a great view from our room as well.

Fantastic spot really close to the prettiest beach and within walking distance to all the best restaurants. The hotel rooms are amazing, we stayed in a two-bedroom villa with the most amazing views. The restaurant serves really delicious food. The staff are very efficient and there was a really good vibe. Highly recommended!

Clean spacious villas and friendly staff, great location overlooking the best surf breaks on Lembongan with Mt Agung in the distance. Infinity pool with a cracker view! Restaurant with a delicious menu. Poolside cocktails. Short walk down to beach and boardwalk with many bars and more restaurants.

First, this hotel seems to have changed recently since the completion of the infinity pool. This new pool is on the same level as the restaurant and many of the bungalows are either just above or below it. This upper level is the new "hub" of the hotel and reception, the old pool and the massage area are a painful 55 steep steps down the hill.
Do really take the stairs and the slope seriously. If you have mobility issues, sore knees or are even just unfit, the stairs will be a killer. Choose a different hotel. There are 55 very steep ones. Imagine twelve inch square steps, one after another with perhaps two brief landings to catch your breath, to get to the top on arrival. Don't worry, someone will carry your bags. And if you want to go to the beach and back again, do the stairs but add a steep 200 metre road to climb back up as well.
It gets you puffing, but for a normally fit person it won't be a problem (perhaps a bonus workout, in fact)
And, if you're just a bit lazy and can cope with one stair climb to ascend to your room on arrival, you need not actually do them ever again unless you go surfing down below, book a massage, or a snorkelling trip leaving from the beach down below (I did the steps just three times in four days). Once you're up, there is really no need to go down.
Our room was nice. The beds had clean linen, but were a bit hard. Other guests complained of it also. We all got used to it over a day or two.
No tv except in the restaurant.
WiFi that comes and goes.
Power failures every day (backup generators kicks in quickly).
Room 11s aircon was barely adequate. It took the worst out of the heat, but we slept without a sheet and it was left running 24/7. Our friends in another room had good aircon.
The first night we have millions of bugs in our room. They seemed to be attracted to lights we lefton while eating dinner. Leaving the lights off on subsequent nights solved the problem.
Breakfast was nice.
The staff were nice.
The new pool is lovely.
The restaurant has a very extensive menu (western and indonesian) and while not fine dining, it is generally very good food.
The view is astonishing. When clear (most days there was a windowof opportunity) there was the most vivid vista of Gunung Agung (Bali's towering volcano). I've stayed all over Bali squillions of times, but never got a really good look at Agung before. Lembongan is a lot closer to it than kuta (where it can sometimes be seem from the beach, but far smaller in the distance).
Surfing. My partner surfs and found the beginners break which is just below the hotel (yeah, fit enough for the stairs) really good. You can see the swell from the bungalows, which made deciding to go for a surf easy. Sufboards were easily hired for 50,000 from the beach below.
We booked a snorkelling trip through the hotel. Actually we booked a trip out to see the manta rays. It was not until we got on the boat that the guy said sorry, weather no good, must take you snorleling instead. We accepted that, but thought we had been had a little. We found the snorkelling good, but I've had a lot better and cheaper. Originally it was 600,000 then three friends joined and it was 750,000 (two families - 4 adults and 3 kids). He took us to a spot where there were squillions of other snorkellers near the mangroves and over to Nusa penida. Both spots were ok, but there was nothing exceptional about the sealife or coral. it was good, but I've seen better in Indonesia. The trip was short - just about two hours and it lacked the excitment and interest of other snorkelling I've done (paid 200,000 for four people a better trip inc lunch in Lombok this year and a full day trip with a seafood BBQ in Flores a few years back was 600,000. Snorkleling round Komodo was also around the 400,000 mark and what you got was so much better. But I guess you have to venture a bit further from Bali or be a bit more savy when booking.
Scooters are available for hire and they are parked up the top, of Cliff Tops so technically you could use the back roads to ride up and down to the beach. Or just ride to a different beach.
Scooters. They charge 80,000 and provide helmets. it was very simple and easy. I would not stay in this hotel unless I was prepared to ride a scooter. You can walk into to town and other restaurants, but there is the climb back.
There are no cars on the island (aside for a few little trucks to cart tourists around). Nusa Lembongan is scooter friendly. Almost everyone seems to be on one and it is great fun exploring the island and going over the suspension bridge to Nusa Cenigan. There are tourists everywhere on bikes (too many at times). The pace is slow (I doubt i ever went over 30kms), but the road conditions can be terrible. I was astonished how few riders wore helmets or shoes. This seems stupid to me as I know I put my foot down more than once on the very uneven pathways in some parts of the islands. Who wants a grazed or busted foot on holidays? I also nearly got run into by one tourist who wasn't a good rider (I am licensed to ride a bike in Australia, but I doubt 10% of other riders are - and insurance won't cover the unlicensed if they have a crack up), so think about what can go wrong and how it won't always be your stuff up - and, as a bare minimum, put a helmet on and wear runners.
In general, we found it very safe and had our kids (in helmets and shoes) on the bikes with us.
It can be very hard finding your way back to Cliff Tops, especially in the dark. We got very lost in daylight and enjoyed the stories of another traveller who got hopelessly lost returning in the dark. Take note of your surroundings on the way out and try to come back in daylight the first time at least.
We really enjoyed exploring Nusa Lembongan and would stay again at the cliff tops.

We (2 adults, 2 children aged 10 and 14) stayed at Lembongan Cliff Villas for 4 nights. We were in a 2 bedroom 'villa' which is really 2 interconnected hotel rooms in a stand alone dwelling, which gives you one bedroom with a double bed, one bedroom with 2 single beds and 2 good-sized bathrooms. There is a bar fridge and tea and coffee making facilities, but no kitchen or kitchenette (although given the great and cheap food at the restaurant you do not need kitchen facilities). The bathrooms are semi-open.

This is not your classic Balinese 5 star resort. For example, the doors to the bathrooms in our accommodation were not fitted really well and had to be slammed to make them stay shut. So if you are after 5 star luxury you would be better off staying elsewhere. Having said that, we appreciate a good 5 star resort and felt quite comfortable at Lembongan Cliff Villas.

The best things about this resort are:

1. The view from the top pool/restaurant. It is to die for. You can see the volcano on Bali easily if it is not obscured by clouds, as well as all the way along the bay and the various nearby surf breaks.

2. The pools. One is at the bottom of the resort and the other is at the top near the restaurant. The one at the top was warmer but both are beautiful. We went to the Batu Karang with some friends who were staying there and I thought that the pools at Lembongan Cliff Villas were better.

3. The restaurant. Great food, both Indonesian and western, and great service, and very good value. Breakfast is included in the room rate - juice, fruit, tea/coffee, banana pancakes and there were some other options instead of the pancakes which I think included fried rice and some other western dishes. The menu for lunch and dinner is extensive and they make really good piña coladas.

4. The service. When we arrived one of the air conditioning units in our accommodation was not working well. We mentioned it to one of the staff and this was fixed immediately. They also arrange your transfers to and from Bali (Sanur) which makes everything a lot easier than doing it yourself (cost of transfers is additional of course).

5. The price. We thought it was great value compared to what else is on offer nearby.

As other reviews have said, there are a lot of steps so this resort would not be suitable for the elderly, infirm or for very young children/toddlers. Our children aged 10 and 14 had no issues with the steps.

The villas and pools are surrounded by beautiful, well maintained gardens which really give this place an exotic, tropical feel. I found it very quiet. It would be a suitable honeymoon place.

There is a short walk down to Selambung beach where you can rent paddleboards, surfboards and snorkelling trips, all at very reasonable prices. The snorkelling at Nusa Lembongan is amazing. It is a further 5-10 minutes walk to the main beach.

All up, I think this resort is great if you can handle the steps and are looking for good accommodation at a reasonable price.

The location of this hotel, made it for us.

Just off of its own little beach and a short walk along the sea front away from some other nice restaurants.

The little beach is lovely, small sandy and the sea is crystal clear and great for some local snorkeling. Unlike the heavily popular and very busy mushroom bay, this beach is quiet. It is has a little Warung at the edge where you can hire snorkel equipment (20,000 IDR) stand up paddle boards (50,000 IDR) and even get some food and drink. There are really lovely people who run it too. We got on a boat with them for snorkeling and Putu the captain was great.

The villas themselves are lovely. The view over the sea was outstanding. The rooms were clean. There was a little bit of maintenance needed in the bathroom, and the mozzy net over the bed had a few mozzie splats on them, but this sort of thing never worries us.

The room and sheets were still clean, bright and airy.

Breakfast includes either an Indonesian noodle or fried rice or the continental option of toast. Toast comes with pineapple jam which is nice, but if you can, they do a great little nasi goreng. If you don't like nescafe sachets as your coffee you can request Bali Kopi if you prefer (which we do!).

The pool by the hotel is often busy (busy for Lembongan standards, I mean like two or three families there), but the staff will let you eat and have drinks from the bar there which is nice.

Try to remember to bring a good supply of cash with you to Lembongan, there are no ATMs on the island yet. A local said "There is one ATM but it is not working yet!".

Although there are card machines, they have poor signal and often don't work. Indeed the hotel one had not worked all morning when we were ready to check out and guests were carted off to other hotels to try their machines. We were jammy enough to get it to work for us, but we were a little upset at the hour wait for the 'manager' to come back and take card payment from us.

Fortunately the rooms are equipped with little safes to keep your money secure.

For us that was the only 'hiccup' in the hotel.

The hotel has its own bar and restaurant for lunch and dinner and the menu is very good and reasonably prices. Of course the bonus of eating at the hotel is that you do not have to pay until the final bill on check out.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel for anyone with back or knee problems as there is a steep walk up the stairs to the rooms and a fairly steep walk to the beach, but for us it was no problem and very amusing to navigate after a couple of Bintang's in the evening.

Also, the Gekos are a bit nosy in the evening, not a problem for us but maybe not the light sleeper. I am not sure if this is the same all over the island or at all times of year but I thought I would mention it.

Ooh and one final tip, if you go to another restaurant on the sea front at night (and you must because there are a plethora of other good spots) you may wish to pack a torch with you. The steep road back to the hotel from the beach is very dark and has a little ditch next to it. A mini torch may assist any 'alcohol-induced' swaying. ;)
