Strategically located near the beach (though with unpaved road), clean room, can rent bikes. Amenities were okay too. However, air con did not work, I had to wait for the staff to fix it (still did not work fully after). Worse, my breakfast was not ready at the appointed time (late half an hour) even though the food was good. Maybe a refurbishment and get more staff? Looked rather unmotivated for Balinese standard.
The photos didn't tell the whole story of the Locomotive. Having said that, there were mostly positives. The hotel is in a great location. Short walk to the beach, or a few steps to the main road. In both directions you will find bars, cafes warungs and other shops. Scooters can be hired and seem to be the main transport on Lembongan. True, the bathrooms are a bit stinky but that's probably due to island infrastrucure rather than the hotel itself. The room was clean enough, bed linen etc so no complaints there. It would be nice to have fridges in the rooms and my tv was black and white picture only. It was ok ... Lembongan is what I imagined Bali to be back in the day so it was kinda fitting 😉 Also, was wondering why an electric kettle is provided, but no tea/coffee etc? The guys working at the hotel were always polite, humble and helpful and they worked long hours. Perhaps the owners of the hotel might consider giving them a slightly nicer place to work ... some landscaping near the pool, painting the metal hand-railing (couldn't quite figure out if they were meant to be that way?), a nicer entrance to the property. Anyway, the stay was very reasonably priced and one can't expect too much.…
Fantastic location, helpful & friendly staff. Sadly we had to ask for clean towels on arrival and the room looked as though it had not been cleaned in a LONG time, the overall aesthetic I think they were going for is industrial chic - but it fails to deliver and just looks grubby. Bathroom a particularly low point with the salt water supply for the shower and sink calcifying & rusting everything it touches and a constant sewage smell made for quick showers! Overall disappointed with the place, breakfast offerings were not great either and we opted to eat at “tiki bar” just 10m away on the road. There are many better homestays and small hotels in the vicinity.
Staff we friendly. Bed was ok BUT Bathroom terrible and smelt was dark and dingy towels had blood on them. Room not replenished. Breakfast very basic no selection. Definitely NOT a Spa. Grounds around pool unkept. Would not take much to at least make it presentable.
We had a great stay here for one night for a good price, good location, easy to book and lovely room for couple/solo. One important thing is I realised I didn’t have my Apple Watch as I was packing to leave Bali to my home country, and realised I left my Apple Watch at the Locomotive Hotel in a Lembongan!!! I’ve contacted the hotel and they said they’ve got it, Gede Jabung organised to deliver my Apple watch all the way from Lembongan Island to Bali just before my flight back home. Super happy and amazed!! Couldn’t be more thankful! Thank you Gede Jabung and thank you Locomotive!!
