We recently took a weekend to visit the Ingapirca Ruins in Ecuador. It's about 90 minutes from Cuenca. First we decided to take a taxi to Ingapirca instead of the bus. The cost was only $35.00. From the moment we arrived at Posada Ingapirca we were taken care of. Our room was appointed with nice furniture, a wood burning fireplace...

This is a restored hacienda at about a ten-minute up-hill walk from the ruins (plenty of taxis available if you have heavy luggage). It's full of atmosphere and interesting bits and pieces. There are pretty gardens looking out over lovely country views. It's an idyllic place to stay. When we went it was cold and so the fire in our...

We'd hesitated about booking this hotel as it's the only one near to the Ingapirka ruins and we thought it didn't offer particularly good value. However we were so glad that we did stay there. The ruins are really interesting and the hotel was a joy. It was a cool, drissly evening when we arrived but we received a warm...

Good, traditional food, friendly service, located close to the Ingapirca ruins. We were taken here by our guide, it seems to be the place most tours use, apparently very close to everyday traditional food. It is quite busy but friendly and informal, the service is good. We very much enjoyed the meal.

I stayed at Posada Ingapirca for one night. When we arrived they told us they had "lost" our reservation and they were fully booked. They managed to get us a room (though we had to wait half an hour for them to prepare the room) and the staff was very helpful in dealing with this issue. But I find it...

We stayed one night after visiting the ruins on our way to Cuenca. Very old and original home. The dinning room had beautiful old wood floors. Our room was large but simple, heated by a nice fire built by one of the staff. At dinner we were give a hot water bottle for the bed. We stayed nice and warm,...

There are no words to describe it. From my window I was able to see the 150 years old ruins of Ingaprica. The rooms are simple, but very clean and friendly. The value/price ratio is excellent. If you would like to switch of for a few day, run away from the world, and from noise, than this is your place....

I pulled onto this posada's grounds in the morning of a day dedicated originally to visiting the Ingapirca ruins. After realizing that the latter could easily be toured in under an hour, I decided to find a quiet spot to have food and get some work done. This posada offers a fabulous breakfast (pineapple with honey-beet sauce, eggs any style,...

We stayed here for one night on as we went through to Cuenca. We checked out the Inca Pirca and this was a great place to stay for the night. The grounds are beautiful and welcoming. Our room was large and comfortable. Unlike most hotels in Ecuador which don't have central heat, this hotel provided an electric heater! Which was...
