Four of us were on a tour and our guide stopped off here for lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed it and thought the food was excellent as well as the beer and wine. Two of us had the grilled trout fish and potatoes and a drink and it only cost around £5 each. This would have cost four or five times that back in the Uk. The quality was very good. However one of us had meatballs and never enjoyed them as quite dense. It had a nice atmosphere and we were on a balcony overlooking a field with horses and the stream. It was quite busy upstairs with other tourists but the service was still efficient and good. Would recommend stopping off for food.
Stopped here for lunch on the way to Rila Monastery. The lunche menu seemed extensive, however a lot of it was "off". The waitstaff seemed completely disinterested in serving anybody. I had an "omlette". It's in quotes as it was basically two fried eggs mashed up a bit - it came with nothing else not even the hint of a salad. Another of our tour group had the bean soup - a travestry of soup. OK so the beer was fine but that came out of a bottle so they couldn'y mess that up. Cheap but avoid. You'd be better off getting an ice cream at the Rila Monastery just up the road.
Visited for lunch . Had food. Food was average levels only. Service was also not that good. Seating arrangement inside the restaurant was good.. seated from the restaurant you could glance the stream flowing .
We visited the restaurant for lunch. Ordered 8 different dishes, the trout and fries were plane and tasteless. The baked cheese simply unpleasant, the chicken souvlaki dry and chewy. The worst though was the service. Rude, no smile..what a poor experience.
Super hospitality and the cucumber milk soup is s great way to start the meal the grilled trout was to die for and the cheese pot was superb with flat bread. The local white wine was the icing on the cake. Peter the owner was gracious and very helpful in choosing the right dishes and wine. Just go with his choice. He knows best
