Well, what can we say other than a most wonderful stay. The rooms are huge, spotless, quiet and have all that you need to enjoy a retreat. Ok it doesn’t have a kettle or air con (didn’t need it even in August cos of the altitude) but it has everything else you need if you enjoy the non-chain personal service. We really felt like we were invited to a home. The food was amazing too....real home cooking. Only advice is....pre order your meals or kick back and enjoy the solitude and views. Tip: get up early and wander around the village as it wakes.
If you are fed up with chain hotels, the make this hotel a must do if you are coming to Rila. Family run hotel with bags of charm and a very nice welcome. English is rather limited, so arm yourself with a phrase book! Breakfast and dinner was taken here, and both were excellent. If you are in a hurry to eat, beware. Everything is cooked to order, so chill out with a glass of wine or beer and relax. When it comes, it is worth the wait. Enjoy!
Stayed here for 2 nights and found it to be excellent. Madam even met us from the bus and guided us to the hotel, we really appreciated that after tiring day. Hotel was clean, well appointed and beautifully built, rooms were spacious and had lovely views. The food is all home cooked and was excellent. It is not fast food so expect to wait while it is cooked, it is worth it. I would recommend without hesitation
The hotel offers very clean rooms. My room did have a balcony. The room and the bathroom apeared in an excellent condition. There is a terrace attached to the restaurant. The food is good. An excellent optional breakfast is offered.
We stayed 2 nights at this small, tastefully designed hotel. Good sized, bright, spotlessly clean rooms with balcony. Very good dinners in the attached restaurant. Breakfast, which is not included, is a bit overpriced. The lady, who appears to run the place and does the cooking is very friendly and helpful. However the man doesn't seem to be much interested, sits most of the time on his backside, can hardly say hello and watches while you are dragging your luggage in...
