Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed two nights as part of 4 day Bibbulmum track walk arranged by AusWalk. The Willy Wagtail chalet had two bedrooms and large lounge area with kitchen facilities. Also a lovely covered outdoor area with BBQ which would be great in summer. While we didn't meet our hosts, as part of the Auswalk package, they provided delicious prepared meals for us. We were very happy with everything.

Stayed here 2 nights while doing part of the Bibbulmun Track (soft option not camping) with accom and transfers organised by Auswalk (also great btw).
The chalets (we were in Kookaburra) were really sweet, quite rustic but lots of space and everything we could need.
The location is charming and the food at the adjacent Nornabar Cafe/ Restaurant was excellent

We stayed in the Sacred Ibis Chalet with 5 people and 2 dogs. The chalet was a good size and really clean. We were all working nearby so it was a quick overnighter but we will back for a longer stay next time. The river nearby is gorgeous. We could run our dogs in the park next door without bothering anyone. Dinner at the Nornabar next door was really handy.

Stayed here 2 nights in the Forestail Finch chalet and loved it. It was absolutely spotless and well-equipped. The bedding was super comfy. It had everything we needed, including a nespresso coffee machine. Really can’t fault anything about it!

Stayed for 3 nights as part of my Munda Biddi cycling trip. Was like an oasis in the desert. Extremely well appointed chalet with everything you might need or want. Beautiful gardens, gorgeous birds visiting daily and a short stroll from the river. Very relaxing. Will be back with the family!

Beautiful scenery water on the river. Gives you the feeling of an untouched forest experience. We only hired the canoe, we didn’t stay at the hotel. You can hire the canoe for one hour or 30min. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

We stayed in the Normalup Riverside Chalets, where the river is actually across the street. There is another property called something like The Nornalup Reserve Riverside Chalets. . . a completely different place!

We stayed in the studio called Kookaburra for $115.00. There is no discount for seniors, but there is a discount for multiple day stays. The property was dated, but clean enough although, the bed coverings needed a good cleaning and the shower had a bit of mold and needed a good scrubbing. There was a little porch with cafe table and 2 chairs. . . mature flowering shrubs give a bit of privacy from the other cabins. There was a complete kitchenette with a fridge, microwave and 2 burner hot plate. The dishes and tools were adequate if not cooking from scratch, but there were wine glasses. There were DVDs available for rental at reception for $3.00. Our general impression is that there was a focus in squeezing every penny out of the property. . . we did not feel a generous spirit here.

They feed the parrots every day at 5:00 PM. . . delightful!

We stayed on the blue wren cabin, which had a fantastic view across the lawn and down to the Frankland river. There were lots of birds to watch on the lawn. The cabin was warm, well appointed, and very quiet. The staff were really friendly and gave us lots of good advice for local attractions.

We had a cabin on the older party of the complex, right on the corner of the main road. Traffic noise caused no bother but some may prefer a quieter and newer cabin. We had a 2 bedroom cabin with well equipt kitchen area. There was a BBQ and pizza oven outside in a secluded and private space adjoining the cabin. The next door Nornabar hours at the time of our stay were 10-3, closed Monday & Tuesday and evening meals available Friday and Saturday. Check their hours before staying otherwise self catering is necessary. The nearest shop is Walpole, and it's local fish and chip cafe comes highly recommended. Wifi signal limited to area around reception.
