Nestled among native wildlife, Bimbi Park - Camping Under Koalas is often celebrated for its friendly staff and impeccably clean facilities. Guests are charmed by the private, well-furnished cabins and the park's commitment to the environment. The deluxe cabins, with their full kitchens and cozy furnishings, receive high marks for both comfort and cleanliness.
While the laundry facilities are commended for their value, some visitors express dissatisfaction with the paid shower system. Overall, the park's amenities and atmosphere provide a unique and appreciated camping experience, despite occasional rushes for the limited amenities.

Great place, fire puts available. BYO firewood or you can buy it there. Old power poles, but the owners ever so helpful & got it working immediately. Great facilities, but for the teenagers, the best activity was the e-bike tour. Learnt a lot along the way including bush tucker. A wonderful cross country experience. A must do activity and a great tour guide, Nathan. Wish we had an extra day as one day was washed out, but Apollo Bay was about half an hour away so shopping was the go. The office also supplied ice and had a mini supermarket there for all the little things we forgot, like bread and matches. Tokens for the showers for 1 for 3 minutes gives you plenty of time. Showers and toilets very clean. All different types of accommodation from unpowered sites, powered sites, pods, cabins & eco cabins. Suits all different preferred accom. A half hour walk to beach & on the way you see horses, goats, chickens & koalas & their babies & great bird life too.
There is a great BBQ area which includes a wood fired pizza oven if you want to build the fire, and a recreation area for the active teenagers.

nice location and self contained cabins with everything you need except low or almost no mobile coverage as the place is right in the middle of Great Otway National Park. Short drive to twelve apostles look out and helicopter heli-pad for ride over 12 apostles, london bridge and port campbell. The campsite has paid activities like dirt bike tours for kids and adults.

I have very fond memories of visiting this camp ground many years ago. The scenery was beautiful and there were koalas everywhere.
Returning again in 2020, I found the scenery just as lovely. However, they have had to control the koala numbers because of the damage they were doing to the trees. Yes, the koalas are still there, but you need to hunt them down.
This is a great camp ground. There is space to just chill out and do your own thing. You can have camp fires by your tent, even in the middle of summer. There is a very good camp kitchen (although some guests leave it messy). The amenities block is also good.
They put on movie screenings twice a week, where everyone pulls up their own chair and sit under the stars together. And there is a putt putt golf course too, if you want to kill an hour or two.
We stayed for a week, and had plenty to do over that time. Day trips to Apollo Bay, bushwalks to the nearest beach or lighthouse, heading along the Great Ocean Road in either direction or into the hills to explore lush rainforests and waterfalls.
About the only negative was the noise of the cockatoos in the morning. Some days they were extremely loud. But then, I came here to get back to nature, so I can't complain that much...

This campsite is in a great location, we saw some adorable koalas and there are good kitchen facilities. We paid $40 for a powered site. Unfortunately, we weren't made aware when booking that the showers are run from a tank and cost extra. We booked the site as we've been on the road and desperately needed hot showers! One of the staff members made us feel uncomfortable when we were buying tokens for the showers and wouldn't let us pay for more than 6mins each - this may well not be a problem for many people but it's tough when you've been on the road for a while! I fully appreciate water is a scarce resource but it would have been good to have known the situation before and additionally we weren't happy to be made to feel bad about it.
It is worth noting that one of the staff we spoke to was very nice and helpful, which is how we've found almost everyone we've encountered over our 6 months in Australia.
We were further disappointed to find that the BBQ facilities advertised on the website are also at an additional cost which was surprising given they are free at parks all around Australia!
This is a good campsite but we felt they had not been clear enough about extra costs and availability of resources and it ruined our stay to have been spoken to in a way that we all considered to be rude and condescending.

Bimbi Park is well situated in Otways but is in need of an injection of funds to improve camp kitchen, (cleaning it plus oven and larger microwave would be a good start). Road signage, tracks and lighting needed. The showers were not cleaned daily evidenced by a clump of hair on floor that remained there for some days. My Pod had Easter egg wrapping on the floor from previous tenant. The toilet block lighting near distant Pods went into flash mode most of the night which disturbed sleep. Rustic is fine but the whole place needs a good clean up.

Dear Kirsty, Thank you for mentioning that Bimbi is well situated and for taking the time to leave a review. I’m not sure what went wrong with the clump of hair on the floor, It may have been stuck on a grate or a fitting. I can assure you that the toilets and showers are done between two and three time per day. If they weren’t there would more than a clump of hair on the floor. I’ll check with the cleaners about the easter egg wrappers. We gave away nearly 3000 eggs easter weekend and we are still finding wrappers. The kitchen has been put on our upgrade list and I’ll check the Pod toilet lights. Once again thankyou for taking the time to leave a review and I hope in general you enjoyed Bimbi and the Otways.

What a great little park, eclectic and gets you back to nature.
Amenties are clean, feed your food scraps to the chickens.
I recently stayed at a Big 4 and it's level of cleanliness and customer service was well below Bimbi park.
Parks in Apollo Bay will charge you over $125 per night for a powered site.
Stop into bimbi park instead.

It was a wonderful one night stay. We enjoyed the goats and chickens.

Beautiful setting and really friendly staff. We had a great pitch with koalas in the trees around us. Great birdwatching and walks to the light station and Rainbow Creek. Facilities were clean and good, shower tokens for a three minute shower (can put in a second token) to help save water

Very cool experience, generously sized powered campsites that were well maintained with fire buckets available on all sites. Main downside was that there was only one amenities block for the entire Park - rush for showers/toilets was often crazy. There was also only one parent room in the whole park.
I also think that given how many koalas are freely roaming around they should reconsider whether dogs are allowed - often dogs were barking during the night at the wildlife.

We had a powered site - both types are available.
Hi Vicki I don't believe there is air conditioning in the bunk accommodation. We stayed in the cabin and there was no air conditioning in there either..only a heater. The bunk accommodation only has a bed I think. ..that's why it is cheaper. It can get hot in summer/December. Yet the park is set amongst trees that provides shade snd as you are in the otways there's a lot of rainforest around which keeps it cooler.
Hi we stayed for a long weekend in off peak and stayed in a cabin but we found the whole camp was quite quiet. I suggest asking the owners they are very helpful and friendly people. You will enjoy your stay there and take the time to do some of the walks from tge camp sight.
