I'm not quite sure why some people have criticised this place - what you get is a stunning 11th Century Kasbah and a friendly welcome. (We booked through Amazing Journeys Morocco) The dinner was traditional and great, the rooms were as you would imagine, basic but clean and had everything you need for an overnight stop. I went running in... More

We stayed only one night on the way to the desert. It's very basic but we found it really lovely staying somewhere so old, the 3 kids (twins 7 & 11 yr old) loved getting lost in the maze of alleys & watching the sunrise/set over the masses of palm trees which are in front of the Kasbah & the... I've had the opportunity to stay here twice and I have to say that it is one of my favorite spots in Morocco. The rooms are great -- clean, warm, and comfortable -- but what makes this place extra special is the wonderful people who staff it. Dinner is delicious: made with locally sourced ingredients and served on the terrace... More

Our first impressions were poor; a long walk down tight stairways to our room. But then our room was great; AC (a true luxury), our own loungeroom, and bathrooms with separate shower and toilet. Dinner was served on the roof balcony, which has fantastic views over the local farmland and hills. The food was very good. There was wifi on... More

We have stopped off en route to the desert here many times but decided to stay overnight this time and it was a real treat. Mohammed and his team are so welcoming and the rooms were very comfortable. Great meal and great entertainment.

My daughters and I always love staying in this location. The staff is wonderful as is the location. We are always treated like family. In fact, Moha always has fresh squeezed orange juice on hand for my daughters since he knows they love Moroccan orange juice so much. I believe we've had at least 4 birthday celebrations in this kasbah... More

The rooms were spacious and clean with a nice bathroom. A rooftop terrace with a beautiful view of the oasis. The excellent dinner was served in a nice, cosy restaurant, with a band playing traditional moroccan music and jamming and dancing later on. breakfast on the rooftop in the morning with a small tour of the traditional restored old village... Compared to the other 4 Riads we stayed in during our stay in Morocco this was my absolute favourite and most authentic. Rooms are big and clean and they have everything you need. It is nothing fancy though. The terrace is huge and has great views on the river and fields. Also visit the Kashba next door. Tamnougalt is so... More

We walked from Agdz to Tamnougalt through the palmeraie (a beautiful hike along the foot of the Jebel Kissane mountain). At Tamnougalt, Chez Jacob is a good place to have lunch before continuing the journey to (in our case) the striking Casbah of the Caids of Mezguita nextdoor (Chez Hassan) and then back to Agdz. We were shown the beautiful... More

A place where one of my favourite films, the English patient was set, called for an amazing stay. A Kasbah rich of almost forgotten history worth fighting for. Chez Yacob run by one of the true, passionate entrepreneurs with the kindest, most welcoming spirits. Food is top quality, views stunning, comfortable rooms...what are you waiting for?
