The Auberge de la Gare is ideally situated at the heart of the vineyards of Lavaux and enjoys a panoramic view over Lake Geneva. The Lavaux Vineyard Terraces have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2007, in recognition of their cultural and natural value. The Auberge is ideally suited for both business and leisure stays. The 5 large bedrooms have been attributed 3 stars, and each offers a warm and individual welcome, as well as being fully equipped with en suite bathroom, free WI-FI, flat screen television and tea and coffee facilities. Parking is available at the front of the Auberge. The restaurant and cafe, which extends onto a large terrace with views over Lake Geneva, serves local cuisine, including the regional specialties of “filets de perche” and beef tartare. The menu is regularly updated to reflect the season’s produce. Please note that our restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday, and we strongly recommend that you reserve in advance so as not to be disappointed. We serve breakfast 7 days a week to our guests. The centre of Lausanne is only 9 minutes away by train (7 km by car). During your stay at the Auberge de la Gare we will be happy to provide you with free public transport tickets which you can use in the region (Lausanne-Grandvaux-Montreux)

The goal of our girls trip was to explore the Lavaux area, the food, wine and museums. The Auberge de la Gare was the perfect location in the vineyards, above Grandvaux and the lakeside town of Cully. Only steps from the train station. The check-in was easy and welcoming like the family that runs the inn. The rooms were clean, with a nod to alpine cosy but updated with all the modern conviences and wonderful views of the lake of Geneva. Dinner was excellent - both nights. The homemade jams, birchermuesli and breads for breakfast were delicious, not to mention the local cheeses! To top it off our hosts arranged a wine tasting in Grandvaux at the Joly winery that was small and personable. In 10 minutes we traveled by train to Lausanne to the Olympic Museum and to Vevey to Charlies World. We loved it so much we extended our stay.

Just returned from a 3-night stay at this beautiful small hotel. Location was perfect for hopping on the train to visit Lausanne or Montreux and easy access to the stunning walking path across the terraced vineyards overlooking Lake Geneva. Afternoons I spent on the shaded terrace with a cool drink.
My room was so quiet and comfortable and the daily Swiss breakfast delicious and filling. The owner is a very accomplished chef, and I enjoyed an excellent meal one evening (fresh perch from the lake!)
What makes this hotel so special is the warm welcome and hospitality extended by the entire staff. I highly recommend this hotel!

I stayed at room no. 5 which is a dependance on the back of the hotel. The room and bathroom were very nice, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the the leman lake view and the use of the outdoor table, chairs and chase lounge. Breakfast was very delicious and with product of high quality. The hotel is very close to the Train station and free travel tickets at disposal during our stay there, were very appreciated and useful. The restaurant was closed during our stay. Hope to try it next time. Highly recommended

Our room was spectacular - large and absolutely charming. We also loved the large bathroom with its walk in shower. The lake view from our window is beautiful! We have enjoyed visiting the bunnies and chickens on our way into the hotel. It is also close to the train station, so it has been easy to travel to the neighboring areas. We have been treated so well here — I can’t recommend it enough.

Excellence location and hospitality. Even though location is across the railways, we do not have any problem in the evening. Breakfast was excellence! We stayed for 2 nights and had lunch and dinner at the restaurant (once for lunch and twice for dinner). Great food! But not too many options for vegetarian. Will be great if there is a daily menu (which is not on the regular menu). Especially if the guess choose to have lunch and dinner in the restaurant during stay.

This hotel offers everything from a wonderful stay, beautiful room and view towards Lake Geneva. Highlight would be to taste the excellent food from the restaurant. Lovely place. Nice rooms, wonderful attentive service and excellent meals. We very much enjoyed our weekend here. You are by the railway line but we were not troubled by that and the advantage is that you are close to the station! The view beyond the railway to the lake is stunning.

It is always a warm welcome in this hotel and restaurant. I spent my short trip 2-3 times a year at this place. Firstly I enjoyed beautiful scenery and comfortable, clean room. Then for sure had an excellent lunch or dinner menu. At the restaurant. The stay was really stamped a beautiful memory.

This is a actually a restaurant which also has some hotel rooms. The location is very special right next to a railway line and overlooking the Geneva Lake and in the middle of a wine region. Grandvaux Station is only about 100 meters away. There are three entrances to the accommodation. One via the restaurant and patio, which is also closest to the station, one from the street and one from the back. We lived in room 1 which has a certain view of the railway and the lake but what you see most is a chicken farm and vineyards. At times we were disturbed by the sound of the trains and by a fan that we believe belongs to the restaurant's kitchen. The room was normal sized and simply furnished. There is no air conditioning, no safety box but there is a TV with international channels and free wifi that worked well. There is an electric kettle in the room so you can cook tea or coffee. The hotel has no elevator but as it is on a slope you can walk in from outside to different floors. The bathroom was clean and had a bath with shower. The restaurant has a nice outdoor dining area and served a completely Ok food and had locally produced wines. However, as everywhere in Switzerland, it is incredibly expensive. The breakfast is served between 8-10 and was a smaller but very good buffet. There was everything you could wish for. It was nice to sit and have breakfast outdoors on the terrace overlooking the lake and the railway. The staff is mainly French speaking but does their best to also speak English with us who cannot speak French. Around the hotel there are lots of vineyards and so you can make very pleasant walks in the area. The hotel had late check out at 12am which we thought was very good. This is a nice small hotel with a very special location. To be in Switzerland, the accommodation was also very good value for money.
