Having travelled to many places and stayed in many nice hotels (see my other reviews) - I can honestly say I have never seen a hotel so spotless and well maintained as Bon Rivage.
We stayed at on New Year’s Eve. This hotel is outstanding and we did not expect a hotel like this in a small town.
The property is immaculate, maintained to an exceptionally high level, the staff are very polite. The rooms were very spacious, we had a large room for the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 young children), there is a tea and coffee station in every corridor which is refreshed regularly. There is also a very well stocked play room for the kids, which was a life saver for us! The breakfast buffet was delicious! Lots of freshly baked items, including bread, viennoiserie, an excellent selection of fruit, charcuterie, jams, and endless Nespresso coffee. There was also a self service egg station.
The hotel sits on the lake and the views are beautiful. It was a easy and pretty stroll into the town centre along the river. As the kids were tired we took a short bus ride back in the evening. The restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner when we were there but we are sure this too would be excellent judging by the breakfast we had. We will be sure to stay here again when in Vevier next! Staff were lovely and they even give you a free bus pass ! Super.

This is a great bet if:
You are just having a short stay and don't need all amenities
Are on a budget
Do take a room with lake view. Worth it and you can open the windows to get a breeze. No air con.
Wonderful gardens. You are right by the harbour and a swimming area.
Easy to pop out for food.
Breakfast was very average.
Rooms fine, clean, decent bathroom

Room beds most valuable like the location and lake view. Bathroom standard a bit old level style and design. Buffet breakfast content offered was too limited according to the high cost and standard level. No warm dishes (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes etc).

The building is beautiful in a marvellous location - you can walk through the garden, through a door in the wall, and you are at the lake. The rooms are fairly large, with big windows, bright and feel clean. The staff at the restaurant is nice, however the same restaurant pulls down the rating by two points. During current restrictions, on chilly evening it is the only place one is allowed to eat (alternative is take away from somewhere else). First disappointment was the plates and glasses - especially the glasses at the table were dirty with stains and signs of previous use. They offered only one menu with a few other dishes, but quite overprices, even for Switzerland, and for the region and the river of the lake. Same for the beverages. One could clearly feel how the situation was exploited, the place was packed full, which under normal conditions would never have been the case with such quality.
For the future would recommend the hotel for the rooms and the view. but for your dining experience look somewhere else.

It is a very traditional, cozy hotel almost at the river. The rooms are small and not very spacious, but it serves the purpose. They have actual keys instead of room cards which I find it very warm and authentic. The breakfast was okay. Nice Nespresso machine in the room. Location is excellent, try to get a room with mountain and river view.

We stayed as a family of 4 with teens and stayed in the Pavilion Family room in the annex building which is connect to the main building. The room has several large windows and a partial lake view (it’s set back on the property closer to the street). Loved the large room and separate sleeping areas. The breakfast was very good with lots of options and you could sit on the terrace with the lake view or in the restaurant. There are several lakeside beaches just in front of the hotel where you can easily swim in the lake and we found several fun playgrounds within 5 min walk from the hotel on the lakeside. There are plenty of restaurants and 2 grocery stores within 5 min walk as well. There’s a bus stop just outside the hotel on the main street which you can take for free to Chillon castle or the Pélerin funicular. Also free parking! Overall a great place to stay.

Nice location but a couple of annoying issues
1/ arrived at 13:45 after hours of traveling but restaurant shuts at 13:30 so long walk to find lunch. Really frustrating, especially as this place is not cheep. Is it a hotel or a B&B
2/ got our fellow guests bill wrong, they were overcharged and I’m confident were still overcharged after bringing the mater to the hotels attention. They paid a lot more than us for the same stay but didn’t want to make a fuss
3/ breakfast ends at 10am and they are very quick to tell you. All a bit of a rush on a romantic weekend away.
4/ rooms and communal areas all a bit basic but could so easily be lovely. It is fair to say the gardens are lovely.
5/ all the staff are a bit shrug shoulders if you do ask for something or roll their eyes if you ask for the missing breakfast items to be replaced
6/ and finally and most of all just way, way too expensive for the level of service and lack of amenities and bland interior
On the plus side our room had a spectacular view but all in all I won’t be staying again and nor will the other 2 couples we traveled with

Dear Thimothy B, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your stay at our establishment. We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. We would like to address each of your points to provide some clarifications: As is common with many restaurants in Switzerland, our last order is taken at 13:30. We did offer you a selection of salads and desserts, but you declined. We then suggested other places where you could have lunch. The price of our rooms varies depending on several factors such as the view, room category, type of rate, etc. The reservations were made separately, on different dates, and for different types of rooms, which explains the price differences. We check reservations and rates daily upon guests' departure to ensure accurate billing. We understand that you found the breakfast time a bit rushed. We would like to inform you that it is possible to extend this moment on our terrace, enjoying coffee and croissants after 10:00 am. We are pleased that you enjoyed our gardens. We take note of your comments regarding the rooms and common areas and will do our best to improve these aspects. We strive to keep the breakfast buffet well-stocked until the end of the service. Occasionally, an item may be missing for a few minutes, especially when many guests arrive at the same time. However, our team is constantly replenishing the buffet to meet your needs. We regret that you found our establishment too expensive for the level of service provided. We are continually working to improve our services and take your remarks very seriously. We are glad that you appreciated the spectacular view from your room, but we are sorry to hear that you do not wish to return. Nevertheless, we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and provide you with a better experience. Best regards,

We enjoyed our stay in the Hotel Bon Rivage and are thinking of returning soon. So much care has been taken to the refurbishment and the result is stunning. Our room had a balcony which we enjoyed very much as the view over the lake is amazing. The restaurant terrace is one of the best on the lake and the food extremely high quality.

We stayed in the Richard Wagner room which is lake facing with a balcony. The view of Lac Leman with mountains and french towns across the lake is simply superb. Breakfast buffet was small but sufficient. The hotel restaurant was not as good though and I would not eat there again. Food took forever to come and was not up to the mark. Rather expensive too.
Service was very friendly, right from front office to waiters to house keeping. People were very warm and friendly. We are looking forward to going back again.

Great location on the edge of Lake Geneva. Hotel stands just above the water edge with a short garden path down. Has car parking at the front (charge of 5CHF per night.
Rooms good size with separate mattress on double beds.
Small bathroom - only complaint would be size of shower as very small. Complimentary toiletries.
Large room fan - was definitely needed as weather very hot.
Breakfast was a self service continental style. Seating was I doors or out on the terrace which had an amazing view across the lake.
Hotel provides guest pass for discount travel on bus service & discounts for local amenities & places of interest. Friendly helpful staff

It's about a 20 minute walk, but it's gorgeous scenery and you can either pick a slightly faster way through the city or walk along the lake shore, where you'll fiend Bon Rivage just in front of you in the end of the embankment. I believe, there are also busses available, but waiting time can be pretty long.
Dear Vic M,
upon request, we can arrange a taxi to pick you up at the train station upon arrival. We will need to know your arrival date and time. The taxy will drop you at the hotel and we will put the fare amount directly on your room.
Please, do not hesitate to contact us for any assistance.
