We booked a Panorama Room with Jungfrau view for 4 nights in July. According to the pictures on their website it looks really great. Unfortunately the pictures doesn’t match the reality. We got a room on the first floor right above the restaurant. The room was very small and didn’t look like the pictures on their website at all. The bathroom was “back to the seventies”. Broken old yellow tiles, dirty mirror and very old tap. The bathroom has never been renovated. The balcony was just above a BBQ from the restaurant and all the smoke and smell went straight into our room. We went down and insisted an other room. The manager told us that this was a Panorama room and that the hotel was fully booked and he was not able to give us an other room. We showed him the pictures from the internet and told him that we didn’t got the room we have booked and called the Tourist Police. The receptionist gave us immediately a Panorama room at the top floor. And yes. That was the room we have booked. The next day we decided to have dinner in the restaurant downstairs. We noticed that there were dead flies everywhere. The window pane was full with dead insects. Anyway We ordered both of us a Cordon Bleu. Within 2 min our food arrived. The Cordon Bleu was uncooked and raw. We made a complaint and the waiter removed our plates. We got new ones after 5 min. AGAIN the food was raw and not cooked. No apology from the waiter, chef or manager. We decided to leave the restaurant and went to the nearest Pizzeria. We travelled through Switzerland and we stayed in several hotels. But this hotel is by far the worst hotel in Switzerland. According to their website it looks like a 4 star hotel. In fact it is a 3 star hotel. But I reality it is a 2 star hotel. Bad management. Lousy service. Misleading advertisement. Old bathrooms. Dirty restaurant. My conclusion is. Avoid this hotel.…
Enjoyed a very pleasant stay at the Jungfrau Hotel. Cosy, clean rooms and some with great alpine views. The beds are comfortable, but the pillows are not so comfortable. (The Swiss seem obsessed with Down, which is terrible for head & neck support) All of the staff were very friendly and helpful as well. The location is perfect in Wilderswil, as it is approximately a 1/4 mile from the train (bahn) station & bus stop (dorf). The hotel provides passes for free travel by train/bus to Interlaken! By train it's 5 mins to Interlaken & 20 mins to Lauterbrunnen. A few local walking/hiking trails provide a grand scenery above Wilderswil or you can stroll the beautiful lakeside of Brienzersee.
My wife, son, daughter, friends and I stayed at the Jungfrau Hotel for three nights in December 2019. The hotel can be reached by taking a train from Interlaken to Wilderswil (about 10 minutes) and then walking another 10 minutes. As you approach the hotel you can see a beautiful view of the mountains in the distance. The checkin process was fine and the front desk staff were very nice and helpful. My wife and I stayed on the 3rd floor with a view of the mountain in the distance. The four children and our friends stayed in two rooms on the first floor. Our beds were comfortable, the bathroom and shower were fine, we had WIFI and a safe. The breakfast was included in our room rate and it was adequate. All in all we had a very nice stay.
Stayed in the Family Apartment with Jungfrau View. Like Good location within 5min walk from the Wilderswil train and bus station Guest cards which can be use for free public transport to Interlaken Ost and West Prompt email reply and service Gorgeous mountain view and serene surrounding Spacious apartment Dislike Apartment has a kitchen but cannot be used for cooking. There is a microwave oven, tea and coffee making facility. Stove cannot be used and there are no crockery, utensils, cutlery etc Only one ensuite bathroom which means disturbing those in the room when using it Front desk staff not very good at providing advice on activities, trips, dining options e.g. when asked about activities on rainy days they could only give me a brochure, did not advise to make restaurant reservations for Christmas eve dinner and unable to advise on nearby dinning options when the restaurent is full…
The JUNGFRAU HOTEL in Wilderswil near Interlaken is located in a beautiful location in the heart of the Bernese Oberland with a view of the Jungfrau massif. The employees are very attentive and the hotel is very close to the train station - excellent to explore the Jungfrau region. It is worth noting that hotel guests pay a visitor’s tax, the revenues of which are used by Interlaken tourism authorities to offer amenities for visitors amongst which is a visitors card for the duration of your stay that entitles you to free travel on public transport and a variety of discounts on trips to numerous excursion destinations and on a multitude of exciting activities throughout the entire region. The rooms were clean, had a spacious wardrobe, a Tv, in-room fridge, coffee machine and two separate single beds with firm mattresses which provided a more stable and even surface, and so I sleep very well. The enclosed shower cubicle was spacious with a wonderful GROHE shower We sat in the balcony from 6 pm enjoying the lovely scenery and the clear view of the Jungfrau massif. After which, we had a lovely dinner in the hotel’s restaurant where the ambiance was great. My friend and I shared a cheese fondue for 2 served with chunks of bread, mini potatoes and pickled vegetables. The sumptuous buffet breakfast had an extensive lay-out with delicious whole fresh fruits, freshly cut fruits, packaged-juice, a variety of breads, yogurts, cereals, muesli, cheeses, coloured boiled eggs and cold meat cuts. I would recommend this hotel for a restful stay.…
