If you like long evenings at your balcony with a fantastic view this is the place. Friendly management, reasonable restaurant, spacious rooms (which are a bit outdated), countryside and plenty of hikes just next door

Far away from the tourist scenes of St Moritz and Davos, this small family-owned and operated hotel was a special find, Salouf lies above the valley with the town of Savognin which has a couple of good restaurants and a wonderful cheese factory and store. Being from Malaysia, it was our first performance in Switzerland. We visited the hotel in low season (beginning of September) and stayed in a 2 room flat (1 bedroom, bathroom with a tub, large hall, kitchen, living room (with a sofa + 2 beds that don't take up any space when folded up and hidden in the closet! - very easy and smart). The hotel offers well furnished studios and flats (we hat a 3 1/2 room flat) in a very qiet, relaxing and agreeable setting off the beaten track. It is a 10mins drive to the slopes - but the hotel offers free shuttle services to the slopes (scheduled and on ad hoc request). The owner family works v hard to make...
