I must start with the only negative, the hotel is at the foot of a steep hill approxemately 1/4 mile long. The hotel consists of a main building and restaurant plus an annex the other side of the road. I stayed in the annex . My room (82) had everything I wanted and had a view of the river and...

Beautiful location. Attention to detail. Good home cooked food. Family run hotel whose members went above and beyond to help me when I became ill. They drove me to Hospital to be treated which was in the the nearest big town and upon my return sat with my Daughter and Husband to plan and book a route home for us...

Visited as part of Rail Discoveries tour. Staff were helpful from arrival meeting us at railway station and collecting our luggage. Nice clean rooms with underfloor heating always felt warm when returning from day trips. Food was plentiful with a self serve continental breakfast and waiter service evening meal (free drinks 7 to 9 was a welcome gesture). Nothing was...

This hotel is probably run by the nicest people in Switzerland. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Large clean comfortable rooms, wonderful duvets! Not much else in Tiefencastel but wonderful base to explore with rail and bus links close by and plenty of places to walk. Looking forward to going back.

I stayed one night at the Hotel, with a group of colleagues. This is a very clean and well run family hotel. The food was good and the breakfast was great. The staff are really helpful and attentive. There are a lot of groups of mostly elderly people staying at the hotel. So I would not call this the perfect...

The hotel is set on the picturesque Julier river. Unfortunately the river is a minor torrent and is extremely noisy. We were unable to sleep with the window open and were consequently extremely uncomfortable as we stayed during a heatwave. The room was nice enough with adequate hanging space. The toiletries provided were minimal and we had to ask for...

Chosen as the start point of an Alpine rail adventure (The Bernina Express and the Glacier Express both leave from the nearby station) six of us arrived for a two night stay on a Friday afternoon. The hotel is refreshingly modern (those looking for traditional Swiss'ness should look elsewhere. Large comfortable rooms with good beds and modern bathrooms. Blistering free...

This was the base for a rail holiday. The village is very small and lacks facilities but it has a railway station half a mile away at the top of the hill from which all of the sights of the Graubünden canton are accessible. The scenery is Swiss alpine so magnificent. Our room was comfortable and had a good sized...
