Went for lunch with friends today. This is a very attractive venue lovely dining areas that look out to glimpses of the river. The menu is quite adequate with something suitable for most people. The waiter taking our order was organised and polite. Delivery was not so good. We ordered four dishes. The first dish was delivered after about 20 mins. The next after another 10, the last after another 5. The use of a robot waiter for delivery, may look very high tech, but really stupid. The live and breathing waiter had to stand by the table and wait for the thing to trundle around and allow him to remove the two plates and place them on our table. I fail to see how this is improving efficiency. The dishes were OK, but HJ's does better burgers. It appeared that the aircon was turned off about 1:30 and the room heated up rapidly. We took the hint and left. Went to pay and no split billing available. Extremely unlikely to ever come back.

We stayed here for a friend's birthday.. check in experience was good except for the $500 bond for the room (we normally pay $100). Room was OK but if you're going to pay $200+ a night, you want decent cups (I swear we had a children tea cup set) and the minimal amount of cutlery in the room. On the plus side the food was good in the restaurant. The outside deck was nice until dusk when the mosquitoes took over and we forced inside.

Stayed here for 1 night we checked in early which was good. Room was ok bit confusing trying to find it. There is no lift just steps up to the room. No balcony at all which it looked like it had from the pictures on the website. No bath robes as mentioned. Shower head rail was loose in shower and tile on shower wall was also loose. Lamp on desk wasn't working and also the phones in the room didn't work if you wanted to order room service.not enough shampoo and conditioner in the room and no bin where the bar fridge is. Pool area was also locked. Bed was massive and aircon was good. Food from restaurant was very average and expensive. One Bolognaise and one ribs with chips and salad very ordinary food for the price of 65 bucks deserts were ok cheesecake for $17 each. Would I stay again nah no way not for $278 it's not worth it

The photos are very deceiving! As soon as you enter the "Lobby" you know you're not getting what you were expecting. First impressions count.
The place is extremely dated, the rooms are large with minimal old furniture.
We couldn't order room service as we weren't "corporate" guests.
We couldn't charge our meal to the room as we weren't on "The list"
Coming from a Management background in Hotels I've never experienced such disdain behavior before.
Then they wouldn't give our bond refund due to the untrained receptionist who checked us in (I'm still waiting for it)
Very unprofessional organization who appear to be running a hotel on an extremely tight budget.
Do yourself a favor and find somewhere much nicer

This will not be pleasant reading.
On 25 Aug 2024 we were booked in at the Swan River Hotel, supposedly in a ‘Superior Room’ for which we paid the princely sum of 332$. When we arrived and checked in we were told to park our car near the unit up the ramp. We drove up the ramp and it was impossible to find the unit number. We had to park the car, walk down the ramp and look at the entrance door at the top of about a dozen steps to identify the block. Reception had told us that we could park by the unit but there were only three spaces for the block, two of which were occupied and one was being repaired. When we finally got a spot we had to get our luggage to the room by rolling it down the ramp, around the corner, carry it up the twelve steep steps and along a long corridor.
The room looked OK, but: there was no bottled or glass container with cold water in the fridge, no milk, no biscuits, not anything one would expect to find in a 4-star hotel! Went back to reception and asked for bottle of cold water, milk etc. The receptionist we found on this day and time was very helpful and he apologised “we’re not allowed to give bottled water in room, too expensive”, but he got us 2 glass containers with cold water from the bar and even carried these back for me to the room.
We didn’t choose to eat in the restaurant, which might have been the best decision we made.
Later that night we found that some of the light bulbs were not working and just before going to bed we found a ‘friend’ in our room: a HUGE cockroach. My husband took a photo and then we preserved the cockroach in a tissue in the fridge. Next morning after we flushed the toilet, the system got stuck and water was running continuously. No matter how much we tried to stop it we had no success. By then we were more than fed up and my husband wrote a letter (giving our email address) to the Manager describing our experience and also enclosing the tissue with the cockroach.
Needless to say, we neither received an answer, apology or anything else for that matter.
Our advice for future travellers intending to spend this much money for a 4-star hotel: CHOOSE another one.

I was gobsmacked that this hotel requires a $500 hold on your credit card upon check in. When I questioned this they informed me that too much damage had been done in rooms and people were smoking in the room. The next morning I had an early start and when I went to shower it turned off after 20 seconds. The receptionist offered another room to shower in however I did not have time to move all my stuff and be ready to leave in time. When I went to reception they said they were unable to offer a discount as they needed to talk to a manager who wasn’t starting for another hour. I requested a phone call from the manager but had to call the hotel myself 7 hours later as I did not receive a call. I ate in the restaurant where I found the staff to be very dismissive and inattentive. Overall very very disappointing!

My wife and I have checked in tonight to a room where the tv dose not work and the front desk when asked said it only went down as we checked in, no effort to fix and just told that there are no working tv’s here at this time. The reception did not answer our calls so we had to go down and ask to see the girl ignoring more calls. Left for dinner and came back to get some sleep them my wife was electrocuted by a bedside lake with no globes… circuit breaker blown and had to wait 30 mins to get it restored, along with the black mould on the bathroom ceiling. Place is a health hazard and with no remorse from management except to say that they would refund the to money for us to go elsewhere, really at this time of night!…

Well!! After staying here on our trips to Perth, which I believe was at least six times in the past. We are not booking ever again!!! This is our fourth night and after two request's we are still waiting for the management to see us. Booked in for over Xmas, phoned twice before arriving to see if the restaurant would be open Xmas Day. We got told 'yes' and never got told we needed to book. But, not only could we not have Xmas Day, but the restaurant was not cooking for almost all of our stay. I cannot understand how you have guests and all you can suggest is Uber Eats.

The gymnasium has all the Covid-19 signs about cleanliness, and keep the equipment clean after use, but you don't provide anything to clean with. All you had in the bathroom was half dozen paper towels, with no cleaning products. When you look at the machines, you can see the sweat stains on the machines.

Now, we get to the swimming pool, you have the signage up for pool rules. One of them is no alcohol, but that's not true, on Xmas Day those rules were thrown out the window as guest's were able to take alcohol by tge pool. People were taken bottles in.

After telling us to use Uber Eats on Friday 24th, someone visits us today by the pool 28th, and tells us to not eat take aways around the pool, because your restaurant is now conveniently open. I'm not really sure were you are coming from. As I've said, we have been here four nights, five day's and I'm still waiting for management to see us!!

Positives: lots of parking and off the main road which meant it was quieter in terms of road noise. Beds and pillows were all comfortable. We are staying over Xmas and it is quiet in terms of numbers of guests - which I’m glad about as the experience would have been even worse (if that’s possible) if it had been busy.

Negatives: River view deluxe room is actually car park view room and bathtub is made for someone 4ft tall! Not to mention your “river view private balcony” is open to all the rooms around you who can just wander in to your space. The River view deluxe room was also located directly under the bar and restaurant. We asked to change rooms as the neighbouring room were playing loud music and smoking on our balcony at checkin. They moved us to a smaller, quieter room with no bath or balcony but still charged us for the “deluxe” room - about $400 difference. We also had to ask multiple times for wifi info as there was no information in the rooms about any amenities, the restaurant etc. Trying to book at the restaurant has been a disaster. No bin in the room (only bathroom), instant coffee only and alarms on all the doors around us meant we were woken up all night when drunk people were returning at 2-3am.

This has been an overwhelmingly disappointing stay for $1332 for 6 nights. I should have stayed up the road at the country comfort for half the price in a much larger room. Never again.

Checked into the International on the Water for our anniversary. This was the first time we have stayed here. Overall the hotel was very nice, pool could do with a shade sail or something, not a very inviting space. Room was well appointed and felt luxurious with a super super kingsize bed. However the bathroom needs a bit of maintenance. Toilet button was smashed in, toilet roll holder was missing off the wall, shower rain head was missing and the door to the shower, I am sure could be heard opening and closing from 2 doors down, was waiting for it to crack. On departure, was expecting the front counter clerk to ask if we enjoyed our stay and I would have mentioned the items that needed attention. However, he just said "are you checking out and then said I was good to go". Full buffet breakfast was what you could expect for $15 a head. With still an hour and half to go before closing, they had run out of bread for the toaster, along with many other items and could not find a staff member to see if they could be replenished. Orange juice was served in thin plastic cups, no glasses. No fruit platter, expect for a bowl of tinned fruit swimming in juice. Instant coffee, no coffee machine.

I would use a taxi - it's about a 15 mins drive from the International airport - and if that's where you are landing a uber would be too difficult because of the traffic at the international airport - especially around midnight.
