One of the best onsen roykan experienced. Difficult to reach. We drove four hours from Fukouka, stopping at Kumamoto, in a freezing weather. Once u r in the villa, it's all worth it. It has all the modern conveniences, iPad with music, excellent wifi, and fully equipped washlet. You can drink fresh mountain spring from the tab. If you want,...

After flying for 61/2 hours from Singapore to Fukuoka n changing trains twice in 2 hours and another taxi ride for almost an hour , we arrived Takefue , a one of a kind ryokan, the only one in Kyushu with Ryokan collection , built within the luscious bamboo grove. It was so surreal in the mountain like in a...

We visited Takefue for our first ryokan experience in early August 2016. After a longish three-hour bus journey from Hakata station in Fukuoka, we were met at Kurokawa Onsen bus stop by amicable staff from Takefue who relieved us of our luggage to enjoy lunch and a stroll around the quaint onsen village before transferring us to Takefue. Thanks to...

Thank you very much for coming to Ryokann Takehue. And thank you for many compliments of praise. However, I was sorry about air conditioning Because you enjoyed Omotenashi, we are happy. We offer better service. The seasonal hot springs show various expressions. Please come back to Ryokann Takefue. We prepare better Omotenashi

We were at Takefue for 2 nights in November. My 90 year old father stayed at Amato; my husband and I at Mone. The service starting from the first enquiry email to the farewell was exemplary. The breakfasts and dinners were both sumptuous, and the facilities modern. Special thanks to Ms Hiroko and Mr Kunihito for their thoughtfulness. In my...

I stayed 2 nights with my family at this incredibly well-maintained ryokan in November. From top to bottom, every experience was perfect. The services were meticulous and the scenery was spectacular. This is one of the few onsen ryokans that allows family bathing outdoor (you reserve your time slots for their outdoor onsen). I was surprised my 4 year-old had...

If you are looking for a typical classic Japanese ryokan adventure, Takefue is not. It's almost like a uber lux Balinese resort planted into a remote Kyushu countryside. Even that, the setting is serene and remote though it's just a 10 min drive from Kurokawa Onsen area. The overall design is to me excessive yet one can't fault the level...

We stayed for a single night at Takefue as part of a driving tour around all of Kyushu in late September. We were a little worried about getting there, since there were still repairs being made to roads and infrastructure due to damage from the Kumamoto earthquake. But as we drove through the tiny mountain roads up to the ryokan,...

We went there for 2 days and it could not have been more wonderful. From the moment you arrive everything you could need is taken care of for you. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Takefue is spotless, from the view, to the room, the food, the service, the onsen, everything is simply perfect. Takefue is truly a class above any other ryokan or hotel - everything from location, food, service to facilities was top-notch. It's a couple hours from Hakata by bus, but don't let that deter you, because Kurokawa Onsen is a beautiful and peaceful town with numerous nature walks and charming shops to explore. Our family took two rooms, both of...
