I am looking at some of the photos posted by other travelers who stayed at this hotel. Some ring a bell and others do not. I am wondering if I was located in a different area of the hotel as my bathroom wasn't done in the modern style I see in some of the photos. I loved my two overnights...

Staff is wonderful. Excellent service. Hotel staff 林樣(台灣Taiwanese) and?樣(日本Japanese,I am sorry that I forgot his name) help us to find our passport which I left at a udon restaurant. I feel grateful for their help. Room is very nice with great view. I like that they service cold tea and snack while waiting for check in. Dinner is fine. Breakfast...

Located at the top of the town with easy access to the main attractions of the temple and shrine, this is an attractive and comfortable hotel. Our room had the option of western style beds as well as the traditional tatami mattresses on the floor. Our room also offered tradition clothing to wear for bathing or eating at no extra...

This was undoubtedly the best hotel we have stayed in Japan. Firstly our room had a full view of the cherry blossoms. Apart from the magnificent view , the onsen was just beautiful. I went into the onsen late at night and the entire bamboo tub was filled with rose buds. The aroma was just sublime and it was a...

What an excellent hotel. The staff are friendly and efficient and the facilities excellent. A much better accommodation choice than a western style hotel. It was my first stay at a ryokan and I'll be doing it again. The baths, in particular are excellent

We stayed one night at the hotel which is next to the Temple and shrine. The check-in process was efficient. The western-style room with twin beds was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. We enjoyed the onsen and visited the nearby Temple by walking up the flight of steps, probably over 600 steps! Most impressive were the dinner and...

The breakfast buffet was impressive with crab and lots of varieties. Nice quiet room with massage chair and western bed. Because the furniture was small, there was no place to sit properly to do decent makeup. No full length mirror. I guess Japanese do not care to check themselves out from head to toe.

This hotel looks old, but the rooms have been renovated and are amazingly comfortable! There is also free wifi throughout the hotel as well. The service is excellent. The staff really took care, especially with my grandmother who is in a wheelchair. The breakfast and dinner are excellent! Breakfast is a buffet, featuring a wide array of foods both western...

Just on night in a Western Style room half board . Usual great Japanese service l. Convenient for the Kubiki theatre and the main shrine in Kitahiro. Facilities first class with English speaking staff available at the front test. We arrived by car which was parked for us at the beginning of our staff and delivered at the end. Set...

Sakura-no-shou is a first class ryokan. Excellent service, friendly staff, very clean and superb meals. Beautiful traditional Japanese rooms, wonderful onsen / spa, great location. We highly recommend a stay at this fantastic ryokan! We have stayed in many hotels in Japan and this one is one of the very best! And do not worry if you do not speak...
