    This is a very specific experience. Staying in a local temple (pilgrim house) run by monks, who can only speak elementary English seems somehow weird.     The temple is quiet and modest but is perfectly in line with koyasan atmosphere. The room was a typical Japanese room and it was very clean. The food is an acquired taste but if you like it is great! The monks are kind and welcoming!...More

    Hello I did it through Japanican If you have any troubles doing it please contact me again. There is a special association for Koyasans temples and they help getting one... but it is not so easy. Good luck! Sonia
