It may not be the best hotel, but Midagahara offers a great scenery and great walk out into the mother natures. It is located in the mountains area which simply allows sufficient time to leisurely stroll around the area. The resturant serve great dinner and traditional japanese breakfast!

Pros: Staying on the mountain allowed us more time to leisurely explore various trails without rush. Staff was very helpful and tried their best to accommodate our requests like early check in, locate the group hiking tour when we were 30 seconds late after they group departed. Room was spacious with 4 single beds and a lot of space to...

We stayed here one night and it was nice. The rooms are Japanese style have a nice amount of space. There is on on site Onsen. The hikes around the hotel and the views are beautiful. Worth a stop on the alpine route.

From Himi City, we travelled to Toyama to start our Alpine Route journey. We bought our one-way tickets from Toyama Dentetsu to Shinano-Omachi @ JPY 10,500 per person. We arrived at Toyama Dentetsu Station just before 0930 hrs in time for the baggage forwarding service. Each bag costs JPY 1,500 for the service, and the bags arrived even before we...

Beautiful surrounding. Hotel is a bit old but clean. Good stop before you go further. Food is very delicious. We did the group trekking arranged by the hotel which is very nice. Easy hiking which will takes you to see a very beautiful top view.

The location of this hotel is perfect. We stayed in Toyama the night before our trip to the Tateyama Kurobe Alpen Route, got an early start on the day (820am tickets for TKAR, which was timed perfectly with when they opened the access to the snow walls), did a round trip tour to the Kurobe dam and arrived at the...

Stayed for 1 night in May 2015 for our honeymoon in the Japanese style room. Travelled during the opening month of the snow corridor. Great location with nice views of the sunset over the snow with the town in the distance. Room had a beautiful view of the mountains and the fields. Comfortable room but no private bathroom available. The...

This is a hotel located high up on the shoulder of Mount Tateyama. There is nothing else to speak of near the hotel -- one should go here looking for beautiful natural surroundings. The hotel itself is average -- rather a typical mountain hotel with people tromping in and out in outdoor gear. Room was nothing special, other than the...

At least one overnight stay when you are visiting tateyama kurobe alpine is recommended as it gives an opportunity to take in view the very picturesque surroundings. It was very rainy when we went and so welcome the chance to huddle in the hotel and enjoy their very nice public bath on the 2nd floor. The price plan comes with...
