The host was extra friendly. He took me and the other guest to watch Japanese fireflies and arranged a private sake and nigiri tasting for us. He truly made us feel like at home. The facilities are easy to find (exact on Google maps) and there's a large parking space. The place is a nice and clean hostel with normal...

Great place to stay with great host! We hired a car which was gave us a lot of freedom to explore the area in off season (not as many buses). However our host was most obliging in assisting in transport and activities for other guest staying at the time. A very beautiful part of the world, and highly recommend staying...

This hostel is located in a beautiful way, best to reach it by car, the rooms and everything is clean and welcoming. The owner and his family are especially nice and welcoming, they had a special dinner for everyone staying there, they seem to often have it, and they encouraged the Japanese to talk with us foreigners which ended up...

Who would have thought a hostel could be sooo awesome. I spent 2 nights at Minakami raspberry youth hostel and our host was absolutely wonderful. This hostel had no communal kitchen, but who needed it with the AMAZING japanese food they served us! We were driven to a different onsen each night to relax and soak in the soothing hot...

We are family-owned and live in the Joetsu National Park,just 2-3 hours from Tokyo,20-minute walk from JR Minakami Station. You will be able to see the Mt.Tanigawadake in front of the hostel. Please look at the pictures on the home page. Tanigawadake Raspberry Youth Hostel is a good place for backpackers. Which offer a simple, affordable accommodation,dormitory style accommodation. Our services are not the same as a hotel or ryokan, this is a low prices. Plus, hostels give you the chance to interact with other guests. Our rooms are shared, single-sex rooms called dormitories, and we also offer private rooms. Breakfast and dinner are available at an extra cost, but must be reserved at least 1 day in advance. The menu varies daily and features a variety of cuisines. Vegetarian cuisine is also available. Traditionally a HOT Spring town,Minakami has over 120 Onsens. There are numerous onsens can be choose from in town. You can access by local bus from JR Minakami Station to the famous Takaragawa Onsen. We can provide free shuttle bus to different onsens every night. Do You want to go to discovery other spots that is not listed in the guide book? We are happy to recommend our favorites indoor,outdoor bath and we do our best to ensure guests and can reach them. Also onsens is the Japanese culture as well. Everyone that has not been introduced in the guidebook there onsens are a number who do not know. Please let us guide the onsens.
