We even installed a fireplace! The lodge has been Number 1 on Trip Advisor since we opened our doors almost 10 Years ago now Mainly due the the terrific team we have working with us We thank all our repeat guests for coming back year after year

Three of us stayed here for our ski trip and had a lovely time. We had a wonderful view of the village with a cute little balcony. Our room was nice, part Japanese beds and part Western. The pillows let down an otherwise comfortable stay and affected the sleep quality - unanimous verdict. Such a small and cheap fix, so I hope they sort it for the next trip!! The breakfasts were good, not heaps but enough and something different every day for the hot component. I am not normally a fan of shared bathrooms, but it was ok. Showers were down a couple of flights of stairs and a pretty cold area in the middle of winter, but the water was hot. The communal areas were very appealing and cozy - just like the photos. Kudos to Akira, Lee, Marie and Kassie. They were most helpful during our stay. We booked directly with the resort and the process was very well handled, also for our ski rental and ski lessons. Lift pass was included in the room rate.…

Bit of a disappointment… can do much better. Poor breakfast… no selection, Aussi sort-of, not Japanese. Tiresome young overseas staff. Overpriced bar Crowded lounge too small for number of guests Very average rooms with no on-suite, cold communal showers & toilets Go elsewhere, there’s cheaper & better available

Hi Steve san Thank you for your recent review of your stay with us in Nozawa Onsen. Yoshiko here the owner of Villa Nozawa. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as we strive to improve with each and every stay. We were naturally sad to hear somethings missed the mark for you as we normally get all 5 star reviews. Wish you had of communicated anything that needed rectifying to us while staying straight away and would have been sure to get it sorted. Akira san the manager is very hospitable and will do anything he can to help. Always too late and such a shame to read about it in a review when it is too late to do something to help you have a great stay. We are on the same team and naturally want you to have a great holiday. Breakfasts we do a different hot component every day. The bar is one of the better priced in town but we will try and do better. When you booked the room you would have known it did not have an ensuite. We do have some rooms with ensuite so please request them if thats what you want. Anyway we thank you for staying with us and really hope you enjoyed the beautiful village of Nozawa. We hope you will return one day and we can make it up to you if do. Safe travels. Arigatou Gozaimasu Best Regards, Yoshiko, Akira and all the team

We stayed for a week. Breakfast was awful. The whole place was a very Australian experience. Not what I come to Japan for! We certainly would not return. The rooms do not have toilets. Most showers are in the basement. The onsen nearby has incredibly hot water and hence is unusable.

There are cooler options in town like Sparena for anyone not used to the heat. Anyway we thank you for staying with us and really hope you enjoyed the beautiful village of Nozawa. We hope you will return one day and we can make it up to you if do. Safe travels. Arigatou Gozaimasu Best Regards, Yoshiko, Akira and all the team

We stayed at Villa Nozawa for close to 2 weeks in December 2020-January 2021. It was a fantastic stay - a perfect 2-week ski holiday. The rooms are both clean and cozy, and the common areas are very comfortable. The breakfast delicious, with both Japanese and Western food, all 'home cooked' with great care. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. Finally, the villa is well located, as you walk to the slopes easily and are 50 meters away from one of Nozawa's best public onsen. A good place to choose!

We are a family of 4 living in Tokyo and we are coming to Nozawa Onsen every year for skiing. We love staying at Villa Nozawa. The rooms have a good size for a family of 4. The kids love the little play area in the basement und we love sitting in the cozy communal room with the lovely fireplace. They provide a great breakfast every morning with a daily changing menu. The team working at the Villa is super fun and very helpful. Can't recommend it enough!

We had a once in a lifetime experience in Nozawa Onsen and at Villa Nozawa. I requested Christmas decorations in our room and the staff had our room perfect for our arrival. Breakfast was fun and different every morning. The hotel was cozy and welcoming, especially the main lounge with the fireplace. We skied 5 of the 6 days we were there, and the skiing was phenomenal. The gear rental and return is easy which is great with multiple kids. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We liked how close the Villa was to Sparena and went multiple times after a long day of skiing. It was the perfect Christmas vacation and we are already planning our next trip back.

We are Beginners at Skiing & enjoyed perfect snow conditions from December 21st-28th. We were first greeted by the very friendly Receptionist named Chika & looked after everyday by Aerandir who took the time to give us advice & lifts around Nozawa Onsen. The breakfast staff were so friendly too. Luke was always around to greet everyone & nothing was a problem. Hugo at the Ski rental was so helpful & friendly. Our room was clean & comfortable. We enjoyed the Sparena,Monkey Park & restaurants. We shall definitely return again. 10/10👍🏼

We arrived mid-December with unseasonal snow conditions (i.e no snow), however the staff made sure that we were able to get the full experience by organising shuttle buses to other resorts where there was snow. Ash and team (including Gab) looked after us from the moment we arrived up until we left. We truly felt at home enjoying a relaxing time away, loved the onsens. We will definitely be back.

We stayed at Villa Nozawa for 4 nights in a Double Room with private bathroom. We were greeted by the the warmest, smiling face and we immediately felt at home. The amazing staff went out of their way to assist us with anything and everything, nothing was a hassle. The room was perfect; cozy, spacious with a beautiful view - we were lucky enough to see snow falling outside out window on most mornings. Breakfast was delicious with a different freshly cooked meal daily and an opportunity to meet the other guests in the warmth of the cosy lounge area. The location is handy to everything including ski fields, hire and restaurants. Thank you Gab & team for having us. We can't wait to come back! Meg & Michael
