We stayed at Maruji for a week in at the end of January with our two young boys aged 8 and 10. This is a family run traditional lodge and we loved it. The staff are very helpful and friendly (thanks esp. Akira and Deborah) and the place was super clean. It is about a 5 minute walk down the...

The traditional Japanese guest house is in a fantastic location at the bottom of the slopes and has easy access to restaurants and onsens! The family, who don't speak much english, are very inviting and more than willing to help with any questions that you may have. Iain was excellent at making our trip worry free and went out of...

Great traditional Japanese experience. Run by a Japanese family as well as some English speaking staff. Iain went out of his way to help us out and make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Only a short walk to the slopes making it an ideal location if you are skiing/snowboarding. The breakfast as well as the traditional Japanese dinner was...

A stunning traditional styled family run lodge. The lodge is a short stroll to the slopes and very close to the market centre. It has its own private hot springs onsen which is fantastic way to unwind after a big day on the slopes. There is also a lounge area with a fireplace which is a great place to relax....

Family run, friendly atmosphere, clean lodge. Close to the slopes, and the ski lockers, good sized area for waxing and tuning. Big clean bedrooms, traditional bathrooms. Both western and Japanese breakfast available, but they will likely assume you want western if you are western! However are more than obliging with providing a Japanese breakfast if you are willing to give...

Maruji is best described as a home away from home. This well established lodge is run by, and the home of, an amazing Japanese family who will cater to your every need. Every morning we had the choice of a Japanese breakfast or a western style breakfast. While we ate the families good Australian friend Iain would offer his mountain...

This is a great place to stay in Nozawa. You get a traditional style stay with an amazing onsen in the building which is perfect after a day of riding. Easy walk to the lifts and also to town. Very comfortable lodging and the host family really do accommodate you well, great breakfast. I'll stay again
