We stayed @ Tsugaike with our 6 year old grandson and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The family that host this lodge, Heather and Marc and there 5 grown up children, went out of their way to make this trip one of the best places we have stayed at in Japan for our annual ski holiday. The room was very comfortable, the facilities were great, breakfast was lovely and there was a roomy lounge/dining area where the kids could play and mingle as well as adults, and share stories of the day on the slopes. I would highly recommend this lodge to couples and families as it was very close to the slopes and had a great atmosphere, we were even invited to the birthday dinner of their son, and taken to to a wonderful Onsen by Heather, which was much appreciated after a day skiing! We would definitely go back there when we go to Japan to ski.

Marc the owner of @Tsugaike chalet is the epitome of the perfect host. From first contact he answered any questions we had regarding our stay, which gave us reassurance and confidence in booking overseas accommodations. We were a group of 7 adults and 7 kids. It was a perfect stay for young families. He picked us up from the bus station and instantly made us feel at home. He gave us good recommendations for eating out and made the reservations for us. He also took us to the local Onsen
( hot spring ).
Marc is a very insightful human being and when talking to him you feel like you are talking to an old friend. Thanks Marc for making this family snow trip one we’ll never forget and we’ll definitely be back!

We stayed @Tsugaike in early 2020 and whilst it was one of the poorer seasons for snowfall in some time, the hospitality of Marc and Heather made up for it. They are a wealth of knowledge on the Hakuba Valley area and Heather was kind enough to take us an excursion taking in some of the local highlights and a great spot for lunch. The lodge has a homely feel to it and it’s a great place to come and crash after a day on the slopes. Would definitely stay again...

Very clean, newly renovated rooms, fluffy towels, great showers and most importantly, a very friendly and generous family. My daughter and I have stayed here 3 times now and it is our favorite place to stay in Hakuba valley. It’s right across the street from the ski slopes, so you can just jump out of bed and be on a ski lift going up the mountain in a matter of a couple minutes. Breakfast is included in the cost of the rooms. Snacks are set out in the afternoon as well. Other guests have brought snacks to share with everyone! An overall great place to relax and chat with other guests, with Mark, with Heather, and with their 5 kids after a day in the snow.

Marc and his family are absolutely wonderful! They picked me up and dropped me off from the shuttle stop and were so welcoming during my stay. They are very knowledgeable about the area and provided excellent recommendations for food and things to do in the area. Marc also gave me great information about the ski resorts and terrain and I got to experience powder like I never have before.

The location is very close to the slopes and the shuttle stops making it easy to get around. The accommodation is very homey and was an excellent place to come back to after a long day of skiing. I would highly recommend this place to anyone coming to ski in the Hakuba valley, whether you are solo or a group. I will definitely be back here for sure!

This was our second stay and it was even more enjoyable than the first! Marc, Heather and 5 kids go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and well looked after. They are very generous with their time, be it providing local knowledge, transporting you to wherever you need to go, or providing guidance on skiing and snow conditions. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and there is a welcoming common area where you can mingle. Literally a walk across the road and you are on the slopes. What more could you want.

Excellent accommodation and even much better hosts. I can't give them enough praise. We had a great time. We will definitely stay with them again when we visit Hakuba. I highly recommend you stay with them when you are in Hakuba. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Marc and his sons are very hospital, helpful and treats you like family. Marc is very responsive go the extra mile. The location is just 5mins walk from Tsugaike Kogen chair lift. They went out of their way to fetch us from Hakuba bus station and gave us a lift to pick up our gears; recommended and booked dinner restaurants; even cooked for us when it us snowing hard. 🙏 👌✅

Staying at @tsugaike was the highlight of our whole trip to Japan. Besides being a 30 second walk to the ski slope, the host and his family are the most delightful and kind people. They are so accommodating and helpful it was honestly heartbreaking when our trip come to an end.

We spent a week with Mark & his team at Tsugaike, and had an absolute ball.
With the ski field a 25m walk over the road, access to a few restaurants & bars close by, this was a perfect week away with our group of 20.
Nothing was too much trouble, each room has an ensuite, it was warm and comfortable.
We will definitely be back again next season. Thanks Mark, Joel & Sarah!
