We stayed for four nights, in three rooms: two couples and a family of four. The staff were very helpful and friendly, giving us tips on where to eat in Hakuba, helping with bookings, dropping us off for dinner each night and to the station...More
We got back yesterday from Hakuba Japan and stayed at the Yamano hotel for 8 nights. The best thing about this hotel is the owners and staff who worked there. They went out of their way to help you with anything you needed in terms...More
The Yamano is essentially a family run hotel with all facilities for skiers/snowboarders. Its relatively basic which is what we were looking for, but immaculately clean with a good breakfast serving to set you up for the slopes, a very short walk brings you to...More
This is a charming hotel. The rooms are spacious by Japanese standards. The food is excellent and the wifi is good. Snow conditions at this time are perfect. It just doesn’t get any better.

Hi there, the nearest slope to kick off your day is about a 10 minute walk. We didn't take our kids with us (5 and 3 also) . If either Monica, Kato or one of the friendly staff can't take you, one of the ski schools will most likely pick you guys up. The staff here go out of their way to make you have the best stay possible. Not to mention the bus that stops near by to take you to whatever mountain you want to ski. We plan on taking our two back to hakuba, and will 100% be staying at Yamano.. Enjoy.
