People care more about skiing when it comes to hotels in Hakuba, but this region is also known for the sunny fun times hiking (and other activities) in the summers! Location & Transportation: In my case, our family (of 3) reserved two nights with this hotel in mid-late June. Being a ski megapolis in Japan, Hakuba is not known for...

We booked a triple room for our 3 night stay and found the room to be quite spacious. The bathroom is very small however. The view from our room is right onto the ski jumps so that was quite a thrill. The restaurant staff are very welcoming. The manager did help us with ski gear hire and organised a ski...

Stayed 4 nights in Yamano Hotel in March. Our room was big and clean but very unmodern and worn out, for example there was stains on the walls, curtains and fabrics. Beds were a good size and comfortable. The bathroom had a deep bathtub and a good shower but only the bare minimum of toiletries i.e. soap and shampoo. The...

Had a fabulous time, with a superb view of the 1998 Olympic Ski Jumps every afternoon with a frothy beverage. A huge Aussie thank you to all the staff at the Yamano Hotel for a great...

Unique Japan Tours booked us here for five nights and we were so grateful. The rooms were fine (our friends jagged the better room but ours was still good and we were only there for snow boarding anyway) but the location, food and the service were the stand out. Nothing was too difficult for the hotel managers and I'm sure...

During our stay at the Yamano hotel, the owner went out of their way to ensure our stay was a comfortable one and we thank them sincerely for that. The building itself is a tad bit aged though. We wish there were more variety for their breakfast (e.g. The previous trip in Niseko, that particular hotel offered Japenese-style breakfast on...

We arrived after midnight, tired and grumpy... Not sure they knew what hit them, there were 7 of us and no one could decide on what room they wanted. The owner patiently stood and waited until we eventually agreed. The hotel itself is very clean, everything functions but isn't fancy, so be aware of that, we had a twin room...

We recently stayed at the Yamano hotel for a 6 day skiing/snowboarding holiday. The hosts Keita and Monica welcomed us and immediately organised our ski hire and passes for the next day. Due to limited snow at Happo one Keita was very helpful in advising other slopes to try for less experienced skiers. Having an Onsen on site was great...

My sister and I are beginner skiers, and we absolutely couldn't fault this wonderful Hotel in Hakuba! The staff were SO knowledgeable, and completely organised our stay for us, recommending reliable & affordable ski hire, best skiing areas, calling free shuttles to transport us to and from the slopes, as well as pointing us in the direction of the best...
