Room was warm, very clean, and great bathroom facilities. The beds and pillows were super comfortable (the best we had during our whole Japan holiday).
The staff really made the atmosphere of the hotel - very friendly and polite, always smiling, and willing to help out.
The restaurant for breakfast had a good mix of eastern and western food, and was a good choice for dinner if you didn’t feel like venturing out.
The bar area had a great open feel and comfortable. Good prices, especially at happy hour.
The water bar was a nice touch.
Good locker room area with plenty of lounges to put on boots, and a well heated seperate drying room with additional lockers and hanging space.
The hotel is in a good location, very short walk to the village, and has a modern and comfortable mini bus.
Would definitely stay here again.
The hotel is easy walking distance to the ski field or you can take one of the free buses.
We had a traditional room looking over the ski field/ mountains which was really good... the beds were soft and the big window was like having a huge TV in your room :-)
The staff were fantastic, the food was good and the onsen great after a big day on the mountain.
The bathroom is a little dated but that's a small complaint:-)
Definitely recommend
Our room was large and clean (western style) but old. There was a sitting area as well with views of the slopes. I think there were also Japanese style rooms available. The manager was very helpful and we were able to buy skilifts for a cheaper price at the reception (but had to pay cash). Breakfast was included with a range of food (mostly Japanese style).
Wifi was free in the lobby area.
Also included were Japanese onsen facilities (free) with an indoor and outdoor onsen.
In addition to the breakfast, we also took up the hotel's dinner plan. It was one of the best dinner experiences we had for our entire stay in Japan. Done to a kaiseki fashion, we went for our dinners not knowing what would be served. Despite the unknown, we were not disappointed by the sumptuous and scrumptious offering. This is highly recommended, even if its just for 1 night.
My commendations go out to Mr Naoya Shimizu and Mr Minoru Koike who are the usual guys welcoming newly arrived guests or those returning to the hotel. They are ever so friendly and so helpful. It was the sort of hospitality that would bring down any language barriers, not that communication was a great challenge to begin with.
Having an onsen at the hotel was a huge plus for us, bonus that they provided both an indoor and outdoor bath. The amenities in there were great too! In addition, proximity to Happo slopes, restaurants, shuttle buses, bus station, convenience stores make this hotel a prime choice for those seeking a wonderful stay at Happo One.
This would still be my choice accommodation if I should return to Hakuba.
They have the onsen (Natural Hot Spring).
Separate toilet & bathroom - a bit small though.
For muslim traveller, advisable to bring your own food as this hotel do not serve halal food.
"western rooms face the alps and Japanese rooms face the other side of the valley, both rooms are great."Read full review
