I have stayed in hotels all over the world and this is by far my favourite. We stayed for five days over Christmas, it was such a memorable and enjoyable experience for us. Joe and his family go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. The English is very good, better then anywhere else we have stayed in Japan....

This is the second time my husband has stayed at High Mount, because the service is fantastic. During out stay we were dropped off at Happo and picked up when we wanted, and watched people from other nearby hotels lug their ski gear to and from the slope. We were also dropped off for dinner in Hakuba each night, and...

If your looking for quality accommodation with a family feel this place is for you, Joe and the team do an incredible job of making sure that you feel right at home from giving you help finding a restaurant to dropping you off at your favoured resort in the morning. Breakfast is amazing and plentiful and what can you say...

We really loved staying here. The family that runs the place do everything they can to make sure your trip is enjoyable. They drop you skiing each morning, give restaurant recommendations and will even drop you out for dinner. We stayed in Jan 2014, and have since even received postcards from them. I'm sure there are flashier places to stay,...

Warmth amidst the snow! A fabulous hotel (it's not the Ritz and doesn't try to be so) however it is run with warmth, genorosity and sincerity. Nothing appears to be too much trouble. Joe Anyo (the son of Ann and Hitoshi) runs the place with ease. Nothing appears to be too much trouble whether it's a call to reserve a...

The Hakuba High Mount was the accommodation provided to my wife and I when we booked our snowboarding holiday. I am so glad that it was because Joe, Gon, Saki & Hitoshi were such a memorable part of our trip that it simply would not have been as enjoyable otherwise! Such a warm & friendly atmosphere at the High Mount...

We stayed here 11 nights. Very good location and the service is outstanding. Our rooms were perfect for us and the onsen at the end of a day's skiing is perfect. They arrange travel and provide an excellent ski drying room, with support services.Great breakfast to start the day! Can't find anything to quibble about!

Great family run hotel, great onsen, great shuttle service to Sakka and to town at night, in fact it's all good. Sure the breakfast could change a bit or the rooms have some sort of wardrobe but that's just being picky. We will be back!

Once again we are home after another amazing snowboarding trip to Hakuba, and staying with Joe and his family just makes it all the more special. High Mount is located in the Wadano part of Hakuba and is only a couple of hundred metres from one of the Happo-One lift stations. The hotel itself is warm, comfortable and clean, and...

The family run Hakuba High Mount Hotel was outstanding. From the free hotel bus for pickup/drop-off from ski fields and train station. To the warm, welcoming service from all of the hotel staff. The hotel has a great relationship with local tour companies, ski hire operators and restaurants. Ski gear was left at the hotel for the hire operator to collect....
