On the way from Biei to Shirogane Onsen, we got a discount coupon for a day trip bath at the information desk at the roadside station "Shirogane Birke," so we went there. It seems to be a long-established hotel, and a group of Korean tourists were staying there on a tour bus. Since it's close to Tokachi-dake, we thought it was a natural hot spring from long ago, but it turns out it was discovered by drilling. However, it was a pretty good hot spring, and the open-air bath was also quite good. After the bath, we took a walk to the nearby Shirahige Falls to cool off.

The hotel is located almost next to the Shirahige Waterfall. The hotel is not new but the lobby is clean and orderly, staff were veryfriendly. The room we had was on tatami (floor of straw mats) and spacious. Futons were laid for us when we were at dinner. The hotel room was divided into two parts - at the entrance where we took off our shoes was also the very compact bathroom, then the second section was the actual room itself. The very compact bathroom has a toilet bowl, a small basin and a small bathtub. But there are no shampoo etc. Bathing is meant to be done at the traditional onsen area on the ground floor. We tried that despite the initial concerns of going into the onsen naked. We found out from online reviews that a kaiseki dinner can be added to the room for a small price. We called ahead and added that. It was a good choice - the dinner was delicious. The only negative feedback was the noisy aircon in the room, supposedly due to the age. My family slept through but I wore an ear piece to get to sleep.

Overall, good stay. The onsen and the Japanese dinner completed the Japan experience in our Biei leg.

Hotel with a number of onsen pools, located about 30 mins drive from Furano area. It is only about a 4 min drive to the Blue Pond from the hotel. Hotel also offers half board option, food was alright though the variety could be better. No wifi available in the rooms, only at the lobby area.

I stayed two nights in a row and it was a shame, toothbrushes, cups were left on the tank of the toilet bowl in the unit bath toilet, it was extremely unhygienic, there was no hair dryer, the room was Japanese style and there were no chairs, there were few outlets, the ultimate was the awfulness of the Vikings, there was no sashimi in Hokkaido, almost no seafood,
What's better is the grade, anyway, the quantity is small and the seasoning is the worst,
As for breakfast, after 8:30, there was no refill, no miso soup, no yogurt, Shiretoko, Abashiri was good
It's just a shame.

The onsen was good but a smoking room was right next to it so you would be walking through a tunnel of cigarette smoke after having a nice hot bath with wet hair. The food was ok but not great. The same menu every day when you stay more than one night. Staff were unfriendly and they didn't even say hello back when we passed them in the lobby or corridor. The only good thing about this hotel was that the room was newly refurbished and clean but no WiFi in the room. I don't recommend this hotel.

Hey I’m not picky but this hotel sucked. Stayed 1 night here in mid July. Room ac was really old and barely worked. Bathroom, shower, and toilet super super super small. No shampoo or conditioner (apparently we were suppose to wash in the onset showers) No WiFi in rooms. Food was served in room and was cold and not so good. Table in room was broke, so wobbled bad. Clerk at check in asked me for my passport wtf??? Didn’t see him card anybody else checking in. Smelled like cigarettes in hallway and elevator. Just a bad hotel with old staff that don’t care. I Moved across street to park hills hotel next day. Very nice well done park hills.

A hot-spring hotel with continuous supply of hot, uncirculated water direct from source, surrounded by the natural splendour of the Daisetsuzan National Park.
Surrounded by a natural scenic beauty, our hotel is proud of our open-air baths, built using 350 tons of stones. Our guests can experience the pleasure of the seasonal changes such as snow in winter and fresh leaves in spring. WiFi Internet access available at the 1st floor lobby.

From June 12, 2024, the name of the hotel has changed to Forest Drops RIN.
I returned from staying at this hotel in July 2022.
(I also left word of mouth from that time on Trip Advisor.)
When I made my reservation this time, the room meal I used to have was gone.
It had changed to serve meals at the BIEI Kitchen buffet dining restaurant, which reopened in April 2024.
We went north via Tomamu Interchange after sightseeing at the old Happiness Station and Tokachi Hills on the way from Katachi Obihiro Airport, and stopped at Farm Tomita in Furano on the way. We didn't make it to the blue pond in the evening, and arrived at the hotel after 6 p.m. (It's still bright this time of year because it's late after 7 p.m.).
At check-in, we had the option of having dinner at 18:30 to 19:30.
I chose the last 19:30 because I wanted to take a good bath before eating.
The bath was as good as the last one.
When I stayed there two years ago, I decided to combine the large shop space in the lobby with the original dining space to create BIEI Kitchen.
It was a failure to make meal time 19:30.
Steak and grilled shrimp seem to be the highlights, but other dishes, like oiled chicken cooked in pork cubes for some reason, and Chinese-friendly? The food was not replenished much like the rest of the previous episode.
The live kitchen was not operational at this time.
When I went to get desserts, the food was already done. We were finally clearing the dessert. This was unfortunate. (Perhaps due to the number of guests that day.)
Vikings will be lonely when there are few people due to food loss issues. In this case, it would be better if they increased the number of dishes using a set meal system.
(This could be improved three months after changing the way meals are served.)
The sun rises very early in Hokkaido at this time of year, at 4am.
I am an early riser in the morning, so I went to the breakfast venue first thing in the morning after seeing Whitebeard Waterfall, a few minutes walk from the bath.
I felt like the food was better than the night before.

I was curious. That there was no soap or hand soap in the unit bath.
I cannot wash my hands with soap after urinating.
Please check and improve this immediately.
I used soap from a certain chain business hotel I had.
In addition, shampoo, treatment and body soap are not provided in the room bath. If you have body soap, you can substitute soap. As for bathing in the room, I had no trouble because there was a large hot spring bath, but I thought this condition meant that I could not use the bath in the room.
I was going to fill out a questionnaire that came with my room, but I couldn't because I checked out at 8 o'clock, because "Blue Pond" is so crowded these days, before tourists flocked from "below."

I'm sorry because the impression of my last stay was good.
We have just changed the way we operate, so there may still be room for improvement.
The bath is very good, so I'll see what happens next. (word of mouth, etc.)
