I have spent many days in this place this place the last 15 years. It's a bit run down but I love it. The family that runs it has done so for the last 107 year and they are never closed. It's Japan for real! The onsen is magic and sitting there in the morning before breakfast is the barest...

This onsen dates from 1899 so it is 118 years old. It is reserved for the customers of the ryokan most of the day but outside guests can experience it for the modest amount of 600 yen (great deal) The water is coming from the Kombu onsen so it has a bit of a slimy texture but it is so...

I tried the onsen in the summer. My wife, daughter and I love it. Despite the shabby outlook, the outdoor onsen is very tranquil and secluded. We enjoyed the running water which gave a more natural touch to the onsen. It does not look like a list jewel, it feels like a lost paradise.
