Stayed overnight in a duplex cabin. We were extremely pleased to find a spacious clean and well equipped cabin. Would definitely look at returning for a longer period of time. This is a well kept,tidy park in a quiet area with the beach only a stroll away. It should be noted that a parking pad is not a feature of this particular cabin. Parking is in a dedicated space across from the cabin on the grass verge. Not an issue, unless the ground is wet.

We decided to go camping last minute and there wasn't really a lot of options left, so we chose this place based solely on availability. Despite that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As it was still school holidays there were a lot of kids at this park having fun, so we didn't even try getting into the pool. Too busy. There is a restriction of 20 people anyway due to covid. Luckily only a short stroll to the beach for a dip. There is also another beach nearby Shelly Beach and a surf beach in Moonee Beach Nature Reserve. The amenities were modern and clean. The garbage truck came in daily to pick up garbage, even on a Sunday. Check in and out was easy and painless. You are given a mobile number to ring, with any issues. Said they'd rather deal with issues at the time, not later on. Aside from a slight maintenance issue with one of the toilet doors it was a well maintained park. Yes, the site we had was mostly dirt with a concrete slab and probably would not be good in the rain. However, we had great weather, so that wasn't an issue. Park has heaps of trees, so you get shade most of the day depending on location. As it was peak time the park seemed to manage well under the strain. The local restaurants were booked out for dining on the nights we tried. Can get takeaway instead though. Recommend going to Moonee Beach Nature Reserve and watching the sunset from the top of the hill overlooking the water. There is a great walk too from Emerald Beach around to there. You will encounter heaps of kangaroos on the walk. Would recommend this place especially to families with small kids with the pool, the waterpark, the beach and all the other great things like jumping pillows, volleyball court etc. Would stay here again, but maybe when the park isn't as busy. Even so we had an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Thanks!

The two bedroom cabin was well equiped and positioned . Sadly my first impression of opening the fly screen put me off , the entire frame was filthy . The floor tiles need a good professional scrub .
Inside clean well equiped for short stays , downside was shower continuing to drip , shower door track needed a bleach and the base of toilet bowl had not had the sticker removed hence it was dirty and looked like poo . The upside was the pizza place outside the park and bottle shop .

We booked into an ensuite caravan site from the 2nd -9th jan 2021... and we decided to leave a day early! We paid $1000 for the site during this time(a fair amount!) and when we booked back in September, we confirmed the site had a concrete slab... Upon arrival to the site, we noticed that we did not in fact have a concrete slab, rather a piece of green floor mesh that was full of holes and rips.. **please not it was very wet during our stay, and we know weather cannot be helped nor changed BUT park maintenance can be!**
As it had rained the night before, our site was full of mud and mud pits..The previous people who had stayed on the site had left some impressive tyre mud pits when leaving and there clearly was no attempt from park maintenance to fill them in. We spoke to management regarding our site, and were told that they would send someone to come and fill the holes and potentially look into more mesh on the site as we couldn't move to another. No one came! We had to go to the local camping store, buy more mesh to endeavour to make the ground safer for our 5 year old to atleast get to the ensuite to go to the toilet without getting stuck in the mud. Seriously! The site was all dirt, no grass at all which with epic rain amounts during that week turned to complete mud pits in which the flies loved to manifest in. We left a day early! With no amounts of help from the management, we couldn't stay any longer enduring it. Also, might I add, half the squirters in the water park do not work, the pool is a murky communal hole, the concrete/ access ways have many pot holes, many guests complaining as the bins were always over full and park maintenance was seen to only really use a blower to blow wet leaves before the next campers arrived. The sad thing was, the site next to us had fake grass!! They all should considering its all dirt!!
I sent an email with attached images of our stay to discovery emerald beach as well as discovery parks in general twice and both times received no response or feedback at all. We will never recommend this park to anyone, nor return to this park nor contemplate staying at another discovery park any time in the near future Save your money, and go somewhere else!

My advice to other travelers is be aware of the cancellation policy at this place. I booked a Superior 2 bedroom cabin for one night at a cost of $160 to follow-on from a 3 day travel deal. Due to circumstances I asked to cancel the additional booking for the follow-on night, 3 days ahead of the actual booking. I was told this was not possible. I looked on bookings.com and it appears to me that if I had booked this extra night through them or Expedia (or any of the booking sites on Trip Adviser), I would have been eligible for a refund. My advice to anyone considering booking here in future would be to do it through Trip Adviser or bookings.com and enjoy a very reasonable cancellation policy for a full refund. Alternatively, my reading of the Park policy is that it will cost you at least one full night’s tariff even if you wish to cancel months or weeks ahead. As you get closer to the actual booking date the penalties become brutal (way more than any additional cost through bookings.com for cancelling much nearer to the booking date) The cabin was ok and park staff were courteous but I guess they are bound by the stringent and inflexible policies. They also give you a sheet on arrival informing you that their free wifi may not work in some cabins (ours didn’t) and if you want visitors it will cost them $15 per head. I was very disappointed with the cancellation policy, particularly when I was able to give a clear 3 days notice.

Hello Martin, Thank you for your email. I'm sorry that you are unhappy with Discovery Parks cancellation policy, however it is clearly written on all documentation emailed. Booking.com & Trip Advisor are separate entities to Discovery Parks & have their own different cancellation policies based on the amount a guest wishes to pay. Generally, guests can choose a non refundable, no cancellation booking at a lower rate or it will usually be a higher rate if a free cancellation booking is chosen. When booking through Booking.com, all & any changes required must be done through Booking.com or the third party site. Wifi is available at the park, however, we don't guarantee service as often weather events can interfere with the signal. Logging in at the front office verandah & then taking your device to your cabin will allow accessibility. All tv's purchased are now smart tv's. The remotes reflect that as most people have internet at home & able to access Netflix, Paramount etc through the smart tv's using the remote. We don't provide access to the subscription channels & the Tv's are not set up to receive wifi. We do request that outside visitors meet outside the park & to support the local cafes & businesses, this allows our facilities to be freely available for our staying guests. We stayed here in October 2020 in a one bedroom cabin while holidaying with our son and family who were there in their caravan. The cabin was very clean and comfortable and only a short walk to the beach. It was during school holidays and so quite busy but it was quiet and very safe for our grandsons who loved to ride their bikes around and enjoy the facilities, pool etc. We would stay there again and recommend it to others.

We booked with travel auctions for a superior cabin. Upon ringing to confirm booking I was informed it was a standard cabin and they would upgrade me in relation to my booking when I arrived and saw the cabin it was not an upgrade at all compared to the original cabin booked. Upon speaking with park staff she said yes your cabin has an oven and the other cabin did not which was a lie and the bed is in a different spot which it is not. I would not recommend this park or believe what the park staff say. Yes there are other parks in the vicinity and yes in future I will take the recommendations. All I want is what I had paid for on my booking papers. I also know it’s not the Hilton but I should get what I paid for.

Can’t praise this park enough. My only reservation in promoting this park is how busy it may become. It’s quiet, and beautifully maintained. Covid response is excellent so you can rest assured a very safe place to stay. Heated pool big enough for laps if you are a swimmer. Great activities for kids with Water Park and right on the beach. The township is pretty with plenty of coffee spots and great walks along the coastline all the water to Moonee in the south and Sandy Beach in the north. And did I mention the service. Management very pleasant and helpful.

We chose to stay in a deluxe two-bedroom cabin. It was in a lovely location with the outdoor decking facing the stream. The cabin was spacious and clean, and there was direct beach access just a short walk through the caravan park. There is plenty to occupy the kids including a water splash area with a dumping bucket and a jumping pillow. Emerald Beach is a small town with only a few shops. If you are needing supplies there are supermarkets in nearby Woolgoolga, and eight-minute drive north.

Well maintained Park but the roads inside seemed quite narrow. We watched a 4WD and caravan almost wipe out part of the pool fence while negotiating a corner. The cabin itself was clean & comfortable although the bedrooms were a little small. Unfortunately, we had a cabin opposite the pool and the spotlight on all night shone directly on our front door. We could barely hear trucks on the highway and there was no noise from within the Park itself overnight.
