I had stayed in Yunosato for one night with my friends durring 1-2 Apr 2012, average temperature is about 2-4 C at noon and lower than -4 C at night. For the people who first come to this place by public transportation, it maybe difficult to access the hotel, only few buses stop near hotel in a day but no problem for private car (The nearest bus stop is Hirase Shinryo-jo only 3-5 minutes walk, should have a bus time table, some buses need reservation). The hotel is ryokan style, lobby room was decorated with lot of antique stuff, make a feeling like you stay at your home. Room is clean and decorated in japanese style, tatami floor and japanese cloths for onsen, shared bath. Onsen is a small bath for 2-3 people but enough for onsen feeling. The service is excellent and friendly, can speak very few english. There is a problem in food supply, there is only one restaurant that can access by walk, another access by car for 15 minutes, so you need to bring your own food supply if you want to stay al day in the hotel (but there's a drink vender machine in the hotel). Room rate's cheap, only 5,500 yen per person with some charge for heater. For the conclusion, this hotel is very good if you want to find japanese feeling or peaceful place amoung the mountains, river and forest and people who want to go to Shirakawago Historical village.

We stayed at Ryokan Yunosato for one night and had a wonderful time with insights into Japanese culture. We were welcomed so warmly and friendly by the family and immediately felt at home. Our tatami room was beautiful and very well maintained. The dinner (kaiseki) and breakfast were to die for. A completely new experience! Afterwards there was regional sake and, last but not least, a bath in the private onsen. We slept and ate so well, and will definitely come back next time we are in Japan. Thank you!
