Staying at Hotel Taisetsu is something I will remember forever! It is a traditional onsen hotel. We booked a Japanese style room, which means we had tatami mats to sleep on and a low tea table. The room was cozy and has everything you need. They provide robes and slippers which most people change into immediately. It is entirely acceptable...

The hotel provides excellent service that is beyond our expectations. There are a few translators at different times of the day at the counter. There are 2 who can speak mandarin and 1 that speaks English. Friendly and very helpful. The 7th floor and 3rd floor onsen is very good. While soaking in onsen, you can view the snow outside....

When I booked this hotel, I knew that it's a bit dated, so I didn't expect very much. It's a large hotel, although the building seemed old and ordinary, overall I enjoyed staying at this hotel very much. The room is large (compared to normal Japanese hotel) and the view from the room is very nice. The snowy mountain is...

The room is very comfortable and clean. The hotel is big and the onsen is also on 3 different floors. There was a tribal performance to entertain the hotel guests. I was impressed. The breakfast spread was very good too.

The hotel is quite big, it offers three hotsprings including outdoor, buffet breakfast and dinner, food was fair in quality. room was clean with tatami style. The hotel was under one hour drive from a zoo, half an hour drive to the ice pavilion, two mins drive from the cable car station to visit the mountain nearby for further hiking...

as we learned, the outside of the hotel tells very little about the experience inside. We stayed two days and nights in a luxury room with private onsen. The room was a delight - full of tradition and modern amenities. We perceived so much peace and quietness that we did not want to leave at the end of our booking....

The hotel was old but we stayed in the rooms with private onsen. The room had bed room, living room and bath room with hot spring pool facing the mountain. The hotel served traditional cake and green tea in the room, kind of late afternoon tea time. We had our dinner in private room and served by a dedicated lady...

This hotel is in desperate need of an overhaul. The decor looked like it was from the early 80s. Toilets were tiny. And so are the lifts making it really inconvenient when The large groups tourists arrive. However, the service from the staff was perfect - from the doorman, the front desk staff that showed me to our rooms and...

The web page certainly had lovely pictures but utterly deceptive. Set in truly exceptional natural beauty of the Daisetsuzen National Park, the hotel was really tired in maintenance and its service staff well below the normal high Japanese standards. Lots of Asian tour groups and segregated dining areas - we were allocated what I'd call a large conference room with...

This hotel is fairly large with a few blocks and there was a few hot springs to choose from as well. It seemed like there were various tour groups staying at the hotel. We stayed in the Japanese style room. The room though not small was very dated and looked very used. The carpet at the window area was stained...
