I was looking for something in the Stockport, Wilmslow, SE Manchester area that had good proximity to Lyme Park and other possible attractions! I had great amusement reading the reviews , particularly the highly critical ones as they tend to be the most inaccurate - and , as expected, they were! Kevin was a great host (I saw less of...

We made this our base as it was close to the start of the Macclesfield canal in Marple. We arrived early as we intended to get a days walking in. As there was very little on street parking we enquired if we could book in and leave the car on their carpark. The man that greeted us was very helpful...

We stayed here for one night as it was near a wedding we were attending. We didn't have high expectations as reviews here are mixed (and there is a frankly bizarre review on Google from someone who hasn't even been to the hotel). However, we were pleasantly surprised. It was with some trepidation that we met Kevin the owner because...

This was the starting point for a walking trip - keys were waiting by the door when I arrived and the room was comfortable and well appointed with tea-making facilities. Both the building and the owner have a bit of character, so be prepared for something a little out of the ordinary - I found Kevin bluff and good humoured....

Overpriced, I agree with one of the other reviewers who said £55 would be a fairer price ,we were charged £80..my daughter had one of the very top rooms, shabby and in desperate need of decoration. Can't actually understand why someone would let the room and charge £60 for it when a couple of tins of paint from B and...

.We stayed here for 2 nights early August and couldn't fault much at all - great little hotel with some nice touches here and there. There were certain aspects where a lick of paint would have worked wonders but honestly, if you can't get past that, then you need to get a grip really - especially considering the owner, Kevin,...

After we'd stumbled up the steps, hunted around until we found the front door in the dark, made our own way up to our room late at night, it was quite a relief to be in a room. At first sight nothing special. But it kept growing on you. The rooms are all different, colourful and quirky. You really feel...

Stayed one night. Small hotel where you really do feel you're a welcome guest and the owner wants to make your stay a pleasant one. We had room 6 on the first floor. Quite spacious, good solid furniture, comfortable bed, ample tea/coffee with more in the corridor, double glazed windows (bit of traffic on the road outside, but not too...
