This was by far the most traditional hot spring hotel, but still having a modern feel to it. Staying at this hotel definitely showed me how traditional they're and cultural. The food was so authentic it was such a great experience! I accidentally came down for dinner the first night and forgot to wear my kimono and learned about it,...

Everything about the Ryokan Biyunoyado Hotel was beyond excellent. The staff is so friendly and polite. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I was blown away by the hotel breakfast and dinner services. They serve traditional Japanese food that not only taste amazing but also had the most beautiful presentation....

The ryokan provides shuttle service to and from the railway station, and the snow monkey park, which makes it very convenient to visit the sights. We didn't even inform the ryokan when we'd be arriving, but they were just waiting at the station whenever the trains arrived. The onsen was really nice, with outdoor pools too. The room was comfortable...

There is a reason why this ryokan has the number of 5 star reviews it does. Ignore the green, dated exterior of the building. Once you get inside, the facilities are clean and amazing. Situated on a hillside so the views you get from the ryokan was stunning. There are two shuttle service times to the snow monkey park (one...

We stayed here for two nights and were bowled over by the whole experience. We were made most welcome and all the staff were really helpful. the food was amazing too - more than you could even eat and great taste. All the food was explained to us by a smily waitress who never stopped laughing. Her happiness was catching!...

I'm really glad that my family decided to stay at this ryokan. It was my first time in Japan, and I didn't know what to expect staying in a traditional Japanese hotel. The whole staff was wonderful. As we walked into the ryokan, we were greeted by the friendly staff and beautiful view of the snow covered mountains and town...

Staying at this ryokan was the most memorable part of my family trip to Tokyo. Although we didn't know what to expect for our first time at a traditional Japanese hotel, the wonderful staff, delicious food, elegant classical interior, beautiful scenery, comfortable rooms and fun amenities (like the ramen and karaoke bar!) made us wish we stayed longer than the...

We stayed here in order to visit the nearby Snow Monkey Park, and it was an added bonus to a great travel experience. From the street approach, you wonder what all the good reviews are about because it is a 9 story wasabi green structure with no special personality. But once you walk into the lobby, you see the fabulous...
