Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Quiet location, spacious sites, spotless amenities, beautiful surroundings - we love our annual stay at Crystal Cascades caravan park. It's so easy to access local shopping centres or to drive into Cairns and then return to this hidden treasure in its pristine environment. The nearby Cascades Fusion restaurant is top quality and very reasonably priced - perfect if you're staying in the Park and the walk up to the beautiful Crystal Cascades themselves is a must while you're there.

A great place to kick back and relax after the long drive up. Clean, well maintained and managed. Excellent facilities, lovely sparkling pool. Away from the city but well placed and convenient to shops etc. Thank you guys, well done - we'll be back again.

This time we chose an ensuite site as there was a deal and we were staying 7 days. Main facilities great, laundry, camp kitchen cabins, pool, walks in the bush closeby, calls from the birds surrounded by lush hills. Close to everything. Supermarkets 5 mins away, CBD 20 mins, sky rail 15 mins and the Northern beaches. Yep very quiet at the moment compared to the parks but well worth the drive out to stay. Friendly staff and welcome. Recommend.

Crystal Cascades was recommended to us by a friend after he had stayed there several times while making his way back to NSW.
From the initial contact to make a booking the staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed on their “stay 5 nights and only pay for 4” deal and ended up extending to stay 10 nights in total.
The park was easy to find and beautifully situated on the edge of the rainforest. The grounds are beautifully kept and the amenities spotless.
For those wanting to get a bit of exercise there is a walking/bike track just 2 minutes away that winds through the rainforest following the river.
The sites were roomy and the pool and small children’s playground are close to all sites.
There is a cafe but unfortunately due to Covid this wasn’t in operation.
I can’t find fail with this little gem!

We booked at the holiday park as it was close to where our son and his family live when visiting him from the UK. The accommodation was just what we required, well equipped, very hot water on demand with the added advantage of washing machines and washing lines in the laundry. The staff could not have been more accommodating and we particularly enjoyed walking along the footpaths next to the river. Although in a rural location it is not far from the centre of Cairns along the highways and has the added advantage of being close to two shopping centres and the railroad and cable cars to access Karunda.

The cabins at Crystal Cascades were well equipped and comfortable. We stayed on three separate occasions within a couple of weeks and each time our cabin was spotlessly clean and a very welcome resting place between tours. Staff were very welcoming and keys easily accessible when arriving after hours. Location is excellent with mountain views and walking tracks close by.

This is a lovely quite location in an oasis of Australia’s best. This year we found the atmosphere not good and not enhanced by the management. Whilst it was unseasonably wet for long periods very little maintenance was undertaken with annoying long grass, palm seed pods feeding the bats and bat droppings left upon lift off, also brought out the darn green ants as a nearby tree not trimmed back enabled a quick passage onto our caravan. We thought the camp kitchen is a disgrace, dirty, cob webs, sinks not clean, services not working snd what did work is well below an acceptable standard for a Big4 rating. Work is needed to lift the readiness standard. Hope this gets to those that need to know. Staff were made aware of issues but appear restrained to what they can correct. Management need to get off their backsides and give a bit back to the visitors by seeing facilities actually work. Camp Kitchen facilities are worn out and have been for a few years. Let’s get this corrected.

A lovely, quiet place quite a distance from Cairns Central but close to Crystal Cascades and Redlynch shopping centre. Too many drivers speed through the park, perhaps speed humps and more signage might help. The dump point in the middle of the ablutions block was disgusting and stank. And don’t expect a “stay seven, pay for six nights”. Even the people who were stuck here for months due to car mechanical issues didn’t get any discount.

I had a fantastic stay at a charming cabin and caravan park in Crystal Cascades. The location was perfect for nature lovers like me, with great bushwalking trails nearby.

I'd suggest adding EV chargers to the park. This move would attract eco-conscious travelers, give you a competitive edge against Airbnb, and potentially reduce long-term operating costs. It's a win-win for both business and the environment!

This park is very nice and in a beautiful setting but the office hours are only 9am - 2.00pm. We were gone by 7am every day and not back until late afternoon. I didn’t see the office staff until the day I left when I was able to pay the remaining balance of my stay. The lady in the office was lovely. Not like the so called cleaner. When I went to the amenities that morning she was dragging the mop behind her and then proceeded to continually slam doors until I had turned the shower off. There was no closed for cleaning sign outside when I went in or out of the amenities. Other friends in my travel group commented that the amenities were dirty and hadn’t been cleaned in the 3 days we were there.

Response from shane katzorke, General Manager at Cairns Crystal Cascades Holiday Park
Responded 2 Oct 2020
Hi Kathryn it is wonderful to hear you enjoyed our idyllic setting and beautiful park. Unfortunately COVID 19 has had a massive economic impact on small businesses across FNQ and we are doing our utmost hang in there and get through, reducing our office hours is but one of our strategies. I apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused to your holiday. We hope to return to our usual hours of operation once travel restrictions are lifted and park patronage levels increase to economically viable level once again. Our cleaning staff commence work at 9am everyday so i'm unsure of who was disrupting your shower before 7am but i will look further into the matter to ensure our customers enjoy undisturbed showering in the future. Please assure your friends in the travel group who expressed concern at the cleanliness of our amenities that our amenities are and always have been attended daily. The imposed federal regulations that go along with operating a hospitality business during the COVID 19 outbreak ensures an even more stringent cleaning regime along with sanitisation and inspection to ensure compliance. As always we encourage any of our valued patrons to contact our staff immediately if there are any problems large or small during their stay with us but thank you for your feedback Kathryn it is most appreciated. Safe travels

Hi, just wondering if there is many caravan sites available at the moment?

Give them a call, the staff are friendly and will go out of their way to assist; however bear in mind that Queensland school holidays start this weekend and many such parks will be under pressure from travelling families.
