This was a lovely place to stay. Rita and Ned were a great Hostess and Host. Rita spent some time with us telling us were the highlights were and when suggesting Woody's Island and Mistaken Point we took her up on it and had a wonderful time. Their place was very comfortable and the breakfast was great! We recommend this place.

My mother, two children (7 & 10) and I stayed at Whale Song for one night in July 2016. It was a wonderful experience, thanks to Rita. The house is much nicer than the photographs suggest. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the guests have their own very large living/dining area and two nice shared bathrooms. Rita greeted us with a yummy snack and gave us a good breakfast. She also advised and looked after us in many small ways. The internet is not reliable but Whale Song is otherwise just great. We'd certainly stay here again, with pleasure.

Whale Song B&B is located within walking distance of the beach at St. Vincent's. The natural stone and gravel beach has a steep drop off which allows the whales to come very close to shore, so close that you might get splashed by them! It is a beautiful beach in a beautifully scenic area. There is a parking area at the beach with informative signs, but there are no washroom facilities, restaurants, or other amenities at the beach.

Staying at Whale Song B&B with your hosts Rita and Ned is as enjoyable as seeing the whales! Nice weather and whales aren't guaranteed to be present, but the charm and warmth at Whale Song will keep you coming back time and again. I have stayed twice and look forward to returning.

The accommodations are comfortable and clean, and you will not leave the breakfast table hungry, that's for sure! Tasty flavors of Newfoundland will be present, whether native blueberry pancakes or waffles or bake apple preserves are served. There is a lovely gathering space with comfortable chairs to rest and put your feet up on after being at the beach all day. Local women's handcrafts are for sale at reasonable prices. The B&B is decorated with beautiful photographs, posters, artwork and signs about Newfoundland. A friendly, soft and cuddly mascot, Pepper may come and wag her tail for you, if you are lucky! She is a little back dog, as sweet as any dog that I have ever met...and cuddling with her adds a nice bit of relaxation to your evening. If you are averse to dog integration, Rita will keep Pepper in her home, just speak up.

There are 2 washrooms, one with a shower, which are shared with all the guests. There are 3 bedrooms in the B&B and even with the other rooms occupied, we never had to wait for the washrooms. Rita and Ned make everyone feel at home and very welcome, which creates a friendly and fun atmosphere!

There is a cozy kitchen with snacks provided, or bring your own items and store them in the fridge.

Visit St. Vincent's to see the whales and the beautiful surrounding area, and stay at Whale Song to learn about local history from the warm hearted people!

Stayed at the Whale Song B&B for one night and it was SO worth it because it's right by the beach where I was able to sit and enjoy the sounds and sights of at least 20 humpback whales coming up right to the shore! It was an incredible sight. There isn't much else in St. Vincent but Rita let us know of a few food options about 20min away. The room I stayed in was fairly small but the bed was comfortable. The breakfast made by Rita was great and there were lots of options. Rita is also very friendly and made the stay pleasant!

This was one of the most friendly B & B's we stayed in on our 5 week trip. Rita was so accommodating and served a wonderful breakfast. The bathroom was shared but I didn't have a problem with that. The beach is a short walk away and we saw about 6 humpbacks cruising near the shore for capelin. A highlight of the trip and I hope to get back next year! There is only a small store in St. Vincent's so come prepared if you want a picnic. The nearest restaurant is in Trepassey going east, I'm not sure what is available in the other direction. I would highly recommend this B & B for whale watching and genuine Newfoundland hospitality.

This was my first trip to Newfoundland & I recommend this B& B ... the warm & welcome is genuine and you immediately feel like you are visiting a long lost friend
the rooms are clean and cozy...I was planning my trip as I travelled and Rita and Ned's
help of what to see and do was worth the stay alone...They make you feel like one of the family even though you are 4,000 miles from home....Although I was too late for the Whales I will cherish my stay with Rita Ned & Pepper..

This is a cosy b&b so close to the most prittiest beaches where you can see the whales if they are there. The rooms don't have a view but it's only 5 minutes to the beach. Rita and Ned are friendly people and breakfast is very nice.

I have stayed at the Whale Song many times and keep going back! I always feel so at home there. Rita and Ned are wonderful hosts and the accommodations are clean and comfie. The breakfasts are delicious and there is a guest kitchen where yummy treats can always be found! And the location can't be beat. The Whale Song is a stone's throw from St. Vincent's beach - the most beautiful and amazing beach in the world!

The best part of this B&B is its owner Rita. She exudes Newfoundland charm in such an authentic way. And, of course, the whales are incredible. I can't imagine you can get any closer to them while standing on the beach. It's quite something. And this B&B is next to the (long) beach. The breakfast is hot, lots of choice and Rita is very accommodating. Lots of snacks available. Bed was quite comfortable. No private bathrooms. Two bathrooms available for all guests and the bathrooms are off the common area so if you don't like sharing or if you're shy about bathroom use, this isn't the place for you. Wifi very difficult to access.

Stayed on our third night our or trip. Enjoyed so much , went back for our second last night. It was Canada day and Rita invited us to join the celebration. Whales were in the bay and only a 200 yd walk for the B&B. Counted 14 humpbacks. One of our best days in our three week visit. In a quite little village. The nearby scenery is amazing. The nearest resturant is 20 km away in another village so you need to eat before or bring something. Small little store in the village. You can always fill up on the delicious cookies and biscuits.

Thanks Dean & Marty
