Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stay here annually and have been for the last 15 years. I introduced my kids to camping here and 15 years later we still come here for the Australia Day Weekend.
Sites are generally large. Facilities upgraded over the last 4 years now offers new Toilets, Shower facilities and Laundry Facilities. With only 60 sites it offers a great family atmosphere and access to the beach without needing to cross the road.
Excellent and friendly onsite manager just makes it a great place to stay where other campers have become part of our extended family.
Great place, Great Manager and a great place to stay.

This cafe has nice food but the best part is that you can watch the ocean while having a cuppa from the outside tables and even some of the indoor ones. It is just opposite the main beach and set back a little from the main road so is an easy place to stop at if you are driving by or staying nearby. When we visited it also had a free library box to choose some holiday reading from whilst enjoying a cuppa.

We called up 2 days before seeing if there was availability for unpowered camping. He’s said yes and we booked in, however on the phone he was extremely rude, sounded like he just wanted our money. Then proceeded to tell us that we can’t drive our car into the camp site, after we had paid.
When we got there he wasn’t even in the office and I had to wait a while until he came and then gave a really unwelcoming vibe. Great start to the stay.
The site itself was ok, doesn’t fit that many people however it’s nice being next to the beach.
Overall, would not recommend at all.

Absolutely loved this place! Perfect spot to camp, right on the beach, could here the waves from the tent, so relaxing and so close to lorne for more fun activities. The site itself is powered and has all amenities to have a great time. We stayed for 5 days but could easily have stayed for a few weeks at least.

My boyfriend and I didn’t book any campsites for our trip along the great ocean road but we were lucky enough to come upon this site. Alan greeted us at reception and got us checked in for two nights. There was a lovely calm relaxing vibe around the site and the facilities were perfect. Would recommend, very enjoyable stay in a great location.

Great spot, right on the beach. Every caravan park from Lorne to here had closed between 5pm and 6pm , which is ridiculous with no after hours access, inc the big park a few hundred meters away. So we had to keep going. Staff here were welcoming and could not believe the others were closed and did not want the business. Limited sites as right on the beach, good toilets and showers, good little camp kitchen. Powered sites. Charges on par with most parks. I would recommend this over the others.

A large park with modern amenities. Much better option than staying in Lorne or the smaller parks in the area which suffer from road noise. We woke one night with a koala in the tree over our van. The nearby coffee shop/cafe/store was a little beauty also.

My wife and I stopped here one night on our honeymoon, and we were delighted with the laid back atmosphere. The amenities were immaculate, and we were very pleased that the beach could be reached by a 30 second walk. There is a fair bit of bird life which really adds to the whole get-away experience. There is only one general store in Wye river, so come prepared not to be shopping. (Does it get any better!)

We arrived late and the staff in the office acted very weird and we smelled alcohol. He seemed to be intoxicated. Got a spot which was already taken by others. Managed to share. In the morning all of us tried to talk to him to find a solution (like a refund). He behaved even more weird and rude. He refused any refund saying: I could give you money back but I will not because I'm in the position to do so. He closed the door in our face. Never before did anything like this happen to us ...

The beach and the campground itself is nice.
