If you like authentic French chateaux you will know what to expect and will love the hotel and it's beautiful setting. The pool is set away from the house but gets plenty of sun all day long. Although it's chambres d'hotes rather than a full board hotel, the owners are attentive and helpful. If you get the chance to sample...

My Wife and myself stayed at The Chateau de Prauthoy for 1 Night on our Way back to Calais/England from The South of France. It is located just Half an Hour North of Dijon, 10 Minutes off the Main Motorway to Troyes/Reims. Restaurant was closed as Low Season / January. We had a very Good Dinner just across The Road...

Very clean and well kept. Comfortable beds. Spotlessly clean swimming pool. Run by a very nice and welcoming French-Cambodian family. We ate at the Chateau- bit of a strange atmosphere at dinner and would be so much better if they served in a more relaxed family style. Lovely food though.

a perfect stop over en route to the alps. We have stayed as a family of five about six times, and every time is perfect. A family run hotel with five course evening meal and great wines. Don't expect butler service its not that sort of place. Its homely, quirky, fun and good value.

Stayed here on our way to the South of France, and would recommend. Chateau is lovely in a faded grandeur sort of way, and the owner was very nice. The best bit was the dinner. We ate in the Chateau and it was lovely.

We reserved a room and dinner for two by e-mail three months in advance. The owner confirmed our reservation, including the dinner. We had further correspondence about possible food allergies (none!) a week or so before the date reserved. On arrival we were told no food could be offered. Resuklt was a long drive to Rehims to find an alternative...
