We spent three nights here, loved it so much, we would have liked to stay much longer. The whole compound emanates a wonderful calm and serenity, is very tastefully designed, the pool area across the little village street very inviting, clean, and set in a lush green garden. The Lake is right next to My Village, inviting for beautiful walks with the most spectacular bird sightings! Breakast and dinner were a feast, including fruit and desert. I recommend the set of curries! Yummy! Last but not all least is the staff. Mr. Justin runs the show in a perfectly unpretentious, professional, and warm manner and treats the junior staff with same respect as the guests. We booked our one-day safari through him and I am very glad we did. He packed us a lovely breakfast and lunch and our driver Mr. Paty went out of his way to make sure we had a spectacular day. One recommendation: book only a half- day tour. You cannot leave the vehicle at all except during lunch break and it is rather long to be crammed in the vehicle for 12 hours. And even in half a day you get to see eveything there is to see. Borrow the bikes which are available for free and ride around the lakes and temples. Great fun and very relaxing activity!…
Amazing hotel - very nice pool, delicious food, very helpful and friendly staff, beautiful and clean environment, quiet location. So far the best hotel that we had in Sri Lanka! Highly recommended!!!!
Best staff in Sri Lanka. They helped us with whatever we needed to be comfortable, even if it wasn’t in their interest. The instalations of the hotel were very nice, they stick to the pictures. Only point to improve is the bed pillows and mosquito repellents :)
The hotel in general is fantastic! The best of our trip! Very good facilities and very nice pool! What we liked the most was the attention and professionalism of the host. We have booked the safari to Yala and a transfer to Unawatuna with the hotel, and everything was perfect! For the safari, they prepared a wonderful breakfast box for us. We do recommend it!
🙂"The rooms are super cozy and comfortable with an amazing garden filled with all kinds of life! The family that own it is just the friendliest, kindest and lovely family you can imagine. The whole setting is absolutely beautiful with tropical garden and a modern designed house with a unique open plan layout. Beautiful, well-maintained property that was very peaceful and serene. The cottages were quite comfortable and cute. The breakfast was awesome, with huge portions. super helpful staff and nice owner, great food and very stylish/cozy rooms and pool, highly recommended
Travelling round Sri Lanka for 2 weeks, staying in various establishments, this was by far the best. The calm atmosphere, fabulous decor, and feeling of feng shui was amazing. The rooms were lovely, the food fabulous, and the staff wonderful. The young lad ( i can't remember his name) who seemed to do everything was fantastic. In fact I began to think there was 3 of him as he was everywhere to attend to your every need. They organised a safari for us on the first day, providing a packed breakfast and lunch which were excellent. They even included cans of beer for the lunch. We left at 5am and there was a cup of tea for us before we left. We spent the second day relaxing by the pool, and one of our party went on a birdwatching trip (again organised by the owner). Excellent value for money. I have no idea what is in Tissamaharama as we didn't want to leave the hotel after the safaris. I notice on a few reviews people are commenting that their rooms weren't cleaned. If you are only there for a couple of days does your room NEED cleaning. If it does you must be very messy people. Back to the food. The menu was limited, but it's quality not quantity that matters. The Sri Lankan breakfast was very spicy (too hot for me) but the rest of the group thought it was wonderful. I cannot praise this place highly enough.…
The owner of this hotel was super professional and also wants to keep commission hunting people for the safari tours for the Yala National Park far away. He truly understands how to keep the image of the area clean. The staff that’s working there is great too 👍
This hotel was absolute bliss to stay in. Very chilled out, comfortable atmosphere with nice seats to sit on and a beautiful pool area which was very clean a well kept. The staff were very friendly, helpful and relaxed also. They organized the afternoon safari in Yala park for us which was absolutely amazing and even better that the hotel knew exactly what we wanted and sorted it all for us, even had a private Jeep to ourselves! Breakfast, lunch and dinner was amazing! Great food and great choice. Absolutely loved this hotel and we wished we could have stayed longer to relax more here or rent bikes as we saw a family do from our hotel. Will definitely be back here for a longer stay when we return to Sri Lanka.
Excellent Stay at this beautiful place. The hotel is almost brand new - lovely rooms, very good food and the service is very attentive. Next to the main hotel is a private pool, which is first class. The hotel is about 2km from the bus station away. Tuktuk costs 200 Rupie
We have spent a night on this hotel and the experience was great. The hotel is very clean and the food is very good. The owner was very helpful and he organized the Safari for us. Although there was a problem with the couple that was going to share the Safari with us (not his fault), the owner was very professional and he kept the price for us. We really appreciated it. Highly recommendable
