We were en route to Glasgow but wanted to stay east of the city. We did not see many places to choose from but were very lucky with this hotel. It is unprepossessing from the outside but pleasant and welcoming within. The owners are outgoing but not intrusive people. We checked into our room which was well equipped. Shortly afterwards...

The A90/A9/M8 route between Aberdeenshire and Glasgow is not for gourmet travellers. Having landed at Glasgow airport at 1700-ish we picked up our car and drove north planning to stop in Auchterarder. However, nothing caught our eye but in the darkness was the very poorly lit Smiddy Haugh in Aberuthven. It doesn't look at all welcoming from the outside, at...

We stayed one night recently - the building is old and quirky. Our bedroom was spacious and very comfortable. Everything was exceptionally clean. We ate dinner in the dining room - excellent, freshly prepared food at a good price. Our breakfast was also very tasty. Highly recommended!

The hosts were extremely pleasant and helpful. Although the outside of the building looks tired the ensuite bedroom was clean and tidy, with well stocked complimentary tray. The food was excellent and the breakfast cooked to perfection. Would recommend this hotel and we would stay again.

Clean and nicely furnished room with good sized comfortable beds. Our room was not ensuite but this didn't matter as we had our own private toilet/shower room next door. The room was also quiet considering we were directly above the bar (which is busy on a Friday night). We enjoyed two evening meals (as well as breakfast every morning cooked...

Stayed one night as I was passing through, was greeted by friendly, helpful staff who helped me carry my bags to the room. Room was the Family Triple which was spacious and clean, maybe a little basic, but more than adequate. Bed was comfy and a good nights sleep was had. Breakfast was really nice, all fresh, local ingredients cooked...

Stayed two nights whilst golfing at Gleneagles. Basic, clean, comfortable accommodation for a relatively low cost. Our bathroom was a separate room but that didn't matter until I locked myself out! Breakfast was good and we were extremely happy with our evening meal. In fact, my steak was far better than the one I had the night before at the...

We only stopped for the 1 night and chose this pub because it had good reviews on trip advisor and it was convenient for us to get to after visiting Doune Castle and it was convenient for us to travel on the next day heading North on the A9. Our room was clean and comfortable and breakfast the next day...
