Well deserved positive reviews and award winning breakfast. Views from the restaurant of Coniston Old Man and Esthwaite Water as Richard prepares what he's really good at...wonderful food. Welcomed to an open fire in one of the lounges and a pot of tea, our room was as advertised and we had a great few days there.

Particularly liked the porridge with cream and whisky. Would have liked a larger TV in the room and the location is a bit remote, particularly if the ferry is...

Booked last minute with a Travelzoo 2 night mid - week break. Far exceeded our expectations for the price we paid. Maintains it's original character & despite the cold weather it was warm & welcoming. We had the Blue Room. The views from the double aspect windows were stunning! Worth every penny! The breakfast was cooked beautifully by Richard the...

We loved it! We spent the weekend here for my girlfriend's birthday, from the moment we arrived we knew we had chosen the right place to stay. We were greeted by the proprietar who checked us in and immediately offered us a drink of tea or coffee which he brought to us in the lounge after showing us our room....
